In vCoH I can't stand the British. I find them boring to play with and against. I also believe the US to be too easy to play with their BARs and numerous Riflesquads.

In Modern Combat there are no artillerywars like there can be in vCoH with double US Howitzers or Calliopes or in the case of the Brits, artillery overheat....

In Modern Combat there are only three artillery units (two for PLA and one for US) and the two powerful ones are so expensive that you'll never see more than one PLA artillery unit in a competetive 1v1 match unless the US goes for Armor doctrines left tree and gets his Paladin.

The two sides, PLA and US are more diverse than US and Wehr of vCoH and fantastically enough are STILL balanced!
Balance have to be looked at from a big picture though rather than two units fighting eachother and in the big picture I'd say it's kinda even.

Marines are the mainstay of the US forces, being very versatile with good damage at all ranges with their default weapons and having several upgrades, both global and individual that enables them to utterly destroy infantry whether they're in cover or not. They can also fire a bazooka for a munitionscost that is effective against vehicles but does little vs tanks.

PLAs answer to the US Marines are the Regulars. Good against infantry with one individual weaponupgrade that can be applied twice, making them deadly against infantry at long ranges and also giving them a snipe ability making them very dangerous against the US low man squads.

Another proof of the US versatility is the Stryker. A vehicle that starts by being effective against infantry but also enables nearby infantry to reinforce.
It can also upgrade to three stronger versions.
One that adds an anti-infantry turret.
One that adds an anti-tank gun
One that adds dual TOW missiles.

I really like the buildingsystem of the two factions.
US are like Wehr and the PLA are like PE.

Modern Combat is the best version of Company of Heroes I've ever played :)
