I put in some long hours, and have finished the map. Looking at it I think I can say that I can make maps.
Should I commission a map, or make one myself? Map making can be a time consuming affair, and in the end could cost a goodly chunk of money. Considering...

An Alpha Demo is now available for public testing, mostly to put various 'engine' additions through the hoops.
While bug hunting and code polishing, I freed up space for a few more lines of code. Managed to bring in a feature I felt was lacking.
Just a small update. Lot's of stuff happening, mostly around polishing and squashing bugs. Also tweaked conversations.
Continuing to polish stuff, including making the port a closer match to the original Apple II version.
Random Encounters have been added, but do they mess with the default too much?

I went down a rabbit hole when I tried to add in custom sprites for the new 'hamlets' and 'crypts'
Freed up a bunch of coding space, and managed to get Dragons fully integrated and working.
Making multi-level towns and castles, and deciding how much of the original maps should be left untouched.
Got good at dungeons, so thought I'd fix the Hythloth bug which prevents passage through a set of 3 connected rooms on level 6.
Made a dungeon (crypt) for the mod, but I am wondering whether it is too challenging...
Tried out adding ride-able dragons, turned out it was easy, and kinda cool, but too much code...
