Shadow ships terrified me more than ISDs ever did when I was young. The telepathic scream they made as they entered view. The shifting patterns of the organic hull... Those 'legs'. The cutting beam...

However, as a ship I'd like to own, while my favourite is a Jem'Hadar battlecruiser (avatar pic), just as imposing and regal is a delta-shaped monument of doom...

Not a fan of the grandstand/'wall' at the back, behind the hyperdrive generators - but that's purely aerodynamics - not much use for that in space! =P

Typical "journalism" - only show half the story, often with bias one way or another... Anyway, what's with the apparent 'battle damage' on the nose of the OAS? Is it mentioned somewhere as to why the really big space ship has holes in its nose?

These are awesome renders, by the way.

In a lot of the more competitive maps, I have purposely made resources hard to come by - you have to fight for resources: you're at war, after all. Some maps are 'hard mode' maps which feature planets inhabited and/or defended a larger number of neutrals. Every resource you gain, will hurt you considerably if lost - at least that's the way I intended it. While the maps already present will be updated with the TFF system types, there will also be maps developed from the ground up to take advantage of TFF. The intent, as Ambarenya has stated further up this dicussion, is to project a more 'realistic' solar system, where possible. However competitive or skirmish maps will also have more interesting strategies available.

That's by design Battlemage, and has been ever since the shattered world came in with v1.0 (I think?). The shattered worlds don't allow starbases to be constructed- there's some fluff I can't recall behind it. I agree that perhaps we could also look at restricting the construction of Starbases in asteroid fields and nebulas - especially the Badlands. It could add more of a challenge... I'll raise this issue with the team.

If you're talking STA3 maps, you're talking about me - yes. I'll be nice and give you some advice: If you have a map question - ask the map maker... Oh hey, that's me!

I asked if you had an example of a map currently in STA3, because if there was - that would be the first one I'd enhance for TFF. No need to get all haughty with me, Battlemage1.

I have many more planets and sector types to work with in TFF, there will be significantly more diverse areas in maps - even the older maps will be updated with new areas and planets. And when have I ever in any map spammed just one planet type in a map? While there may have been double-ups on occasion, depending on the map and how many players it's meant to support, I can't think of a single map I've made where every planet is the same type (without going through all 40 odd right now)... Was that a worst case hypothetical situation you were referring to, or do you have an example where I've spammed one planet type?

In addition, request that they send envoys to you. Do you share territorial borders? That will ensure the envoys get there unmolested. It will take time, but the AI should send a few envoys so they will have a cumulative effect.

To put it in real-world perspective, you don't just walk into Putin's, Obama's or Xi Jinping's office and go 'Hey dude, so we want to be friends... Can we have some of your nukes?' - there are OBSTACLES in place. Like trust. You aren't going to be granted the ability to jointly build a starbase featuring cutting edge tech from both races, or to call in a fleet of warships from your ally to help defend your territory just because you rocked up in a fancy ship and said some nice things... You need to earn that trust.

**You could also ask India, Pakistan, the UK or France for their nukes...but they'll say no too... You might have more luck with North Korea...but I'm not convinced it will work as described...

You haven't ****** me off, SuicideCommando... Made my right eye twitch involuntarily, perhaps. You'll know when I'm ****** off: Expletives, exclamation marks, caps lock will be on at certain points...I start using phrases like 'there won't be enough of you left to find'... It's generally an unpleasant experience.

Dozen? DOZEN!? I think you need to count again, buddy... And considering they're ALL going to get updated for TFF and its new shiny planet system, I've got more work cut out for me... There about 40 maps that I've worked on personally, plus 20 odd maps that were made by other members of the team before me.

As for maps being available for download, not at this stage however an updated version of the Galaxy Forge may be released at some point.

For common buildings not linked to any particular System Lord, probably best to keep them a 'neutral design'. Not a bad concept though.

The file you are looking for is called M_Event_Cube. That is the ship file for the Unimatrix Cube. If you want it to be capturable, you'll need to remove the ability G_Ability_UnCap. However, just be aware that if you remove it's 'boarded' buff, you will not be the only player capable of capturing such a vessel...

That is, in part, MY doing. I'm not a fan of having things given to you. Every world you take, you must earn. However, I'm not adverse to making a 'Federation Peace' map for Final Frontier for those who would rather quick-draw a tri-corder than a phaser... I will take this into consideration.
