look, after a year you get a reply :) sry about that. The original MP server was taken down, the site is still there.

The SoF Server is not part of the client installation. Open SP can be played by simply using the "SP New Game" Button in the Main Menu.

Just a note:

There is only one download availabe provided by the SoF Team which is the Download here at ModDB.

Downloads at other sites are not cherished, often they are not even uploaded by us.

If you want to have clean files, use the files from ModDB - just browse this page up to find them.

my fps in Shadow of Fear with a 4 years old grafic card is up to 180 except in fields - because SoFs Asteroids, Debris and so on are moving and are pushed away by ships conflicting them. Together with the fast light, shadow and surface light effects my fps is sometimes dropping to 50 when being in a field where massive parts are displayed and /or moved.

Fps is directly connected to your grafic card settings. You can alter it the way you won't have any probelms.

This Version (RC3) is outdated, RC4 is the newest version of the Mod please use that one.

it means not yet - we plan to provide the server files when everything is ready and working at least at 99.9 %.

A stable version is running on the official SoF Server ("24/7 Shadow of Fear"), connectable via the in Game Server Browser or via direct connection to 217.172.179.149:2302 (the last no. is the usual Freelancer Game port). The Server is dedicated and provides a perfect ping for the best gaming experience.

Do you have to less to do in the game?

It would not be a problem to reactivate the native Freelancer story. Unfortunal it is simply to hard to manage it with the SoF settings in the background. It's the same as for the Freelancer Missions - it would be frustrating since Shadow of Fear's 88'Flak based NPC AI is challanging even the "best" pilots to the bones.
