Well, I will say for you that You can have some mods (a minory) installed on the same time. Shockwave, RotR, Cold War Crisis and Vietnan: Glory Obscured are some exemples.

But most of the mods require this trick which you´re doing to work.

Yeah, on TFD you must pick the correct directory, or it will trow the files directly on TFD folder.
