The one referred to in the file named Documentation.txt in your mod download?
I was going to post a wall of text about how they picked the most popular mods and only for the games they actually own. Then I saw Median 2008 as a honourable mention under 'old skool classics'. Now that I've thought about it some more, the awards are actually fine, other than the fact that their honourable mentions don't get enough coverage. ;)
Just kidding. :D
Because it's a harder Act?
By reading the provided readme...
It's kind of cheating though, if you crank up the resolution so far that you can see the monsters and they can't see you.
'THIS IS CRAP IT LOOKS JUST THE FUCKIGN SAME BUT NEW SPELLS'
Warning! Disclaimer! This mod for Diablo 2 looks like Diablo 2! That's just rubbish. It should look like Crysis!
'ONE THING THAT ****** ME OFF IS WHEN U USE A SPELL IT DONT GO WAY U CLICK INSTEAD GOES ANYWHERE'
Blindside does that, yes. The other 209 character skills don't. But hey, god forbid there's a quirky skill in the game. This particular skill requires tactics on the part of the player, so of course it is rubbish because you lack tactics. Epic.
'i can't sell items 2 a fair price, and it cost alot 2 hire some1...'
They have negotiating power because you're the one who desperately wants to get rid of your stuff and they have a cartel. They'll offer whatever the hell they want.
'it could be nice if u added "epic gems" by cubing 3 perfect gems?'
Request motivated by making characters MOAR STRONGER without adding value to the game while imbalancing socket fillers rejected.
'and its 2 hard 2 complete the story mode many times, can't u just unluck all way points, so i only need 2 kill the finale boss?'
Why are you even playing an RPG? I suggest Unreal Tournament.
'wtf is craftion points btw?'
Question ignored due to unwillingness to read docs.
Lorenado. You know, the Diablo III Archivist april fool's joke?
I've no idea why Arcane Fury would ever have been a 'normal skill'. Ennead Challenge skills aren't normal skills. It has been moved up to the Black Road Challenge reward slot because you don't really need maxed FCR in Hatred difficulty, but you do need an instant heal.
Uh, what? Time Field was implemented HALF A YEAR BEFORE Diablo III. Disintegrate merely happens to share a name (it's an instakill nova on a timer) and it has been removed in 1.A9.
I took exactly 1 skill from Diablo III, and that's Disintegrate - which appears on the /amazon/ as Death Ray in the bloodwitch tree.
1.28 GB? Lol. How the hell do you come up with 1.28 GB? The mod is 112 MB.
You need LoD 1.10, 1.11 or 1.12.
It can spawn as +skill on gloves.
I'm afraid it's not the *skills* that are useless. Many people diss the crossbow skills but it turns out they didn't actually invest into strength because 'the necro isn't supposed to have strength' and they didn't get Howling Totem, Death's Fury Totem NOR Famine and are surprised that their damage is low.
Nightmare was removed because it was useless, by the way. Why bother slowing enemies when you didn't have a ranged attack because... Buckshot and Widowmaker didn't exist yet.
Btw, if you want to slow enemies, there's Talon's Hold for that now, which you can easily apply to the whole screen with ...Widowmaker.
That's not a necromancer.
I've no idea what you're talking about...
Go to the mod homepage and try another mirror and hope it downloads fast enough before your carrier pigeon connection is eaten by a hawk again?
You obviously didn't read the docs because A. you didn't install any LoD patch, so you don't have patch_d2.mpq, and B. this did not deter you from replacing an unrelated .mpq file.
Congratulations, you're the 1000th who doesn't manage to follow the 'replace a file' instructions.
Also, the characters from my old D1 mod don't work! Fix that Laz! All of the characters from all of the mods you make for all games you mod should be compatible!
Apparently you didn't realise that (duh) the skills are different because Median XL is NOT Median 2008, so I'd like to hear how you propose to convert characters with different skills. (Not to mention items)
By the way:
'the first median xl'
...means the oldest original public beta versions. You know, BETA, the releases meant to TEST the damned game. I didn't see you give ANY beta feedback, but now you're whining that the test version you've been freeloading isn't compatible with the release version? QQ.
That's not what the manual says, because a lot of people can't even follow those steps.
The original posted failed to even READ it, though.
You play tcp/ip the same way you do it with regular D2... lol.
'umm dude i cant make mods i download them but nothing happens how u make mods any way'
--- You read the README inside the download. Sigh.
'I love the MOD, but personally I think the new skills should of been added in addition to the old existing skills'
--- Firstly, this would be impossible for technical reasons (file size limits etc.). Secondly, every other mod already has the old skills and it causes people to ignore the new skills and go for SKELETONS LOL in every single one of them.
'Also same thing with the cube creations, like creating full rejuv. potions, and perfect gems'
--- Thanks, you didn't bother to read the cube recipe list to know how to make perfect gems. My patience with people who don't read the docs wore thin after about the 2000th question that is answered in the docs.
'It would be cool if we could hire all 4 or up to 4 minions, (rogue, guard, iron wolf, & barbarian)'
--- Impossible in this engine, of course.
'From what I've played they would be needed'
--- They are of course NOT needed, otherwise nobody would beat the game. You just need to play better (not just get the best items).
It's inside the download.
You CAN go online (www.d2maniacs.org -> private realm) but you can't play on the official Blizzard realm.
Well, when you installed 1.12, it overwrote the mod. The mod comes as a file named PATCH_D2.mpq for a reason...
I can't help you because you didn't tell me when you crash and how you installed the mod.
Thousands of people are losing their jobs every day and all you are concerned about is a free file host.
Good choice. :)
Pfft... two multiplayer awards, one TC award. Yeah. Kind of biases the results, no?
Since you didn't tell what your problem is, I can't help you.
'There are skills like the nova charge(sorc) or the judgement thingy(paladin) that basically kill everything for almost no mana kost and you dont have to do anything. On the other hand you cannot fight without those skills because the normal attack is next to useless'
On /players 1 (you read the gem in your inventory, did you?), doing a low amount of damage quickly is all you need. On higher /players settings and harder difficulties, these automatic damage spells will help, but it will take too long for them to kill monsters on their own.
'For example a paldin should fight enemys in melee and not kill everything with a single skill...'
The infamous judgedin? They usually don't get much farther than Terror if they ONLY rely on VoJ. Paladins aren't supposed to fight IN MELEE, by the way - if so then why even have ranged skills?
So YES, you are trying to cheat. Why would I cater to cheaters?
It is interesting that you consider 'challenge' and 'fun' mutually exclusive, though. Where is the fun in hacking a mod to beat everything without any effort?
I'm not targetting home hackers, by the way. I'm trying to protect my work from people who would hack it, then distribute the hacked version under my name and tarnish my brand equity.
'it is like you purposely went out of your way to close source
a naturally open source mod thus preventing anyone from being able to
construct there own playing experience using some or all of the files with there own changes to make it funner'
You mean to say:
I went out of my way to prevent anyone from HACKING THE MOD. Median 2008 was hacker's paradise BECAUSE the txt files were included, meaning any rogue private realm wishing to add their own imbalanced items and any dropmod/godmod maker could easily do so. They then broke it in the process and guess who got the complaints about bugs and balance problems?
The few people who like to tinker with a mod do NOT outweigh the many people who would use the txt files to hack it. Ever been on Hamachi lately? Median 2008 was like that TIMES TEN.
Ps. Mods aren't naturally open source. Median was the ONLY significant mod with included txt files... the other modmakers had less faith in humanity and did not include their txt files for all of the reasons above.
Ps. Your 'changes to make it funnier' almost certainly won't make it harder, rather easier. Which means you're cheating. Cluck cluck chicken.
