Well, I have just started playing but I have many texture problems. Many character textures are missing and there are numerous yellow exclamation marks and purple patches in the cave. I can't see where to go. I think my installation of Oblivion is ok so I don't know why so many problems.

Hi, I have downloaded and installed the English version of Nehrim. Seemed to install properly but at the menu when I click on New Game nothing happens! Can't start a new game. Did I do something wrong? Thanks.
I've started playing the prologue but I can't see what to do. I'm by a crashed car and there is a large house nearby. I can't get into the house. What am I supposed to do?
Does anyone else play this? I can't find any active servers from the menu.

I'm still having some problems with some mission files. After placing the pk4 file in the fms folder they do show up in the mission list. However when I try to install the missions they do not appear as the current mission after the game restarts. Is it sufficient just to have the pk4 file in the fm folder?
I have now managed to play the mod properly after installing the zip file version of the mod. The earlier download program version was dodgy and did not work properly for me. Still, I have now played through the training mission and it looks and plays great. It is definitely more ambitious than all the other thief games. I am now playing the chalice and am stuck in the opening area. I don't know if I should be going through the door or climbing over walls. Are there any walkthroughs for these early missions?
Ok. Presumably if I get a message saying TDM launcher can't be found it is because the mod tries to restart itself in order to play the mission. Are you sure the coding for the restart process is all correct? The TDM launcher exe is in the main folder where it was downloaded to. The program is obviously not looking in the right place to find the launcher.
Oh dear, there are definite problems with the menus. I did what you said and the two missions do now appear in the missions list. However when I click on one to install it I get a message that TDM launcher can not be found so I can't install the maps.Very frustrating.

Great to see the mod finally released! I've been waiting a long time. Well done to all involved. However I am having problems. I used the small downloader program yesterday to install the mod. It seemed to run fine. However I could not play it because no missions appeared in the list of missions. The training mission and another pk4 mission file are in the fms folder but neither appear in the list of missions. Is there a simple solution? I am thinking of now downloading the zip file version to see if that may work.

Also I think it's a bit unfair to describe Oblivion as an action game with RPG elements. I think Bethesda got the mix of action and rpg pretty well right.

I have been experiencing a lot of crashes when loading maps for this mod. Does this hotfix make the game more stable?

Can't find any of the maps or people playing this online. The multiplayer browser seems to be the ordinary Doom 3 game browser.
The 1.91 full version file does not unzip properly. Parts of it are corrupted. What should I do?

Well thanks for your comments but it is the RC2 2.1 version I downloaded. If that is out of date then what is the latest version? Is there a patch? Ain't no point in downloading the same file again.
I have been playing this for a while and it is mostly excellent. Visually it is the best Thief style game I have played. The conversion of the Doom 3 engine is masterful. Most of the items and weapons work well.
There were some problems. The menu screens did not work reliably for me. The main concern I have is with the guards and on screen characters. The movements and walking seemed a bit unnatural - the upper legs don't look right. Also blackjacking them did not seem quite right. Still, I'm sure these are details that can be worked on.
I am also stuck in the mission because I don't know how to damage the statue or where the relic box is. I can't find any hints or walkthroughs.
Overall though, fantastic.
I have downloaded and installed the latest client but when I try to join any of the servers listed I get the message that 'server is out of date'. Are these servers functioning properly and if so how do I join?

OK, thanks for your prompt response Happycheeze. Your comments have certainly helped because it is certainly preferable for me to run the mod from within Doom rather than setting up a new shortcut. Perhaps it would be a good idea to include this reminder in the readme in case people struggle with the shortcut method.
Perhaps my problem was that I did not add the _fs path after the quotes in the target path. That may explain my problems.
I have cheered up a bit now and I will try and play the mission.
I have downloaded the St Lucia mission and I am trying to install it. However it is proving impossible. I have followed the instructions properly and extracted it into the correct folder. I have copied the shortcut and I am trying to rename it. However when I enter the pathname shown in the readme the path is not recognised. I have tried other path name variations and none of them are accepted. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
My first impressions of this mod are bad because I can't even start it. Is it really not possible to produce missions that are easier to install than this - without having to rename shortcuts?

No, I have not tried any of the demos yet although I am itching to do so. I do have a copy of Doom 3 but it is not installed on my PC because my hard drive is fairly packed at present. However when I get the chance I will play the demo missions. Are you still interested in feedback on these missions - positive or negative?
I do have a question for you. Are the mapping tools fairly easy and straightforward to use? I know from the Thief forums that some mission authors did not try and create Thief 3 missions because they thought the Thief 3 editor was too difficult. This is an important consideration.
Like many Thief fans I have been keenly awaiting this mod. Like others I thought Thief 3 was botched, at least as regards gameplay. There is no doubt that this looks great but I am hoping it will address some of the problems of Thief DS. Some of the things I didn't like about it were player movement (Jerky and imprecise), skewed bow sights, lockpicking and portals for moving between areas. This mod seems to be run by genuine enthusiasts who want to see an updated improved Thief engine without making compromises to console systems. I hope this is right and they produce a great looking, fun to play mod. I will be delighted and grateful if they do. Good luck!!!

Well, with the easy installation method I created a new folder cod2waw in the COD2 folder. I unrared the mod rar file and copied the contents to the cod2waw folder. I then copied the file zzz_sbt.iwd to the COD2 Main folder. I now run the game from the multiplayer shortcut as instructed. Unfortunately, no mods option appears in the menu.
I'm just wondering if the case of the letters in the folder is important. In the first method the folder is cod2waw. In the second method it is CoD2WaW
I don't know if I'm being particularly dim but I can't get this to run. I've tried both methods from the readme. When I follow the instructions for the first method and run COD2 no mods option appears in the menu screen. In the second method when I try to alter the short cut as described the new path is described as not valid. What have I done wrong? Also, do you need the map packs to run the mod at all?
