So I've been making games for 28 years, and you want to judge my work as being cartoony? I have more talent with Source than any of you, guaranteed. You let my friend Crypt on the team .. and he's an average mapper, period. Who do you think compiled the code for 'Office Complex'. hmm? without me it would still be SourceSDK 2007. Is all the work I did for OC cartoony? Take one look at my ModDB profile boy. Name anybody that knows more than me. I should do my own Hazard Course mod, alone, to put you all to shame.
Now get to deleting this before anyone else sees it. Good boy.
I like nodrawing the outside just to make it easier to noclip around outside a map for reference and screenshots.
Nope, never heard of it. We're just a group of computer wizards who also happen to be complete idiots.
Well said. Being challenged is good. Plus I believe that confidence is all one needs to avoid drama; joining a flame war e.g. Besides I'm old, my joints hurt when I type angry :)
I agree with your sentiment thall33, just know that thought is being put into the essence of your concern, so I'll give you another perspective. There will be... *stuff* that is surprising, and unexpected. Things that BM won't have. I really have to curb my enthusiasm here so I don't give anything away, but there will be at least one BIG surprise, and overall the experience will be unique to this mod.
Would be nice working with you! What do you think supersoup?
It's not dead, I just don't have internet access for now so I'm working offline :]
Once again, MILLIONS of years in the future. I'm sure we would have the capability of fabricating materials far lighter and harder than we can today.
2 thoughts.
1)- Being millions of years in the future, the hexagonal pommel would be made of a material capable of precisely balancing the "light as air, harder than diamond" material of the blade.
2)- Good call! I have already planned certain player model animations to include the second hand coming into the back handle to aid in two-handed strike animations!
GL on your project, and thanks for tracking Eon!
Thanks! I'm actually enjoying the extensive hours of coding time. It's been a great way to improve the old skills :)
No, it is completely original. At first, it was going to be a prequel to Final Fantasy 6, but now it is not.
Glad I found this group! FYI, I R mod leader for "Eon", a source engine mod drawing upon the Final Fantasy series as it's primary inspiration.
In a way yes, but at the time I was looking for clear and instant recognition of who was who. A flat gray surface with large, bright red text did that well :)
This mod is no longer associated with FF6. It will be a fantasy RPG that plays much like a FF title, but we will not risk a cease ans desist order. Therefore the title, story, and characters will be original works.
You may not get any responses because "The Wandering Scarab" turns up no results in steam. I tried, discover and repost the actual contact name.
My current thoughts are:
1)- I'm lovin' it.
2)- This piece has 5 measures; 2 with background only, then 3 with phaser delay. I keep expecting to hear one more measure of phaser delay. I hear it in my head every time I play it. Then to vary things up, have another series (2 measures background, another 4 phaser delay) with different notes. So at least 12-16 measures total per theme would be great!
Thanks for the post! We are using pre-vis content at this point while we see how gameplay, action, and choreography are going to work.
