I'm a student in college with a huge interest in art, music, and computers. I have grown up on video games, starting out with the classic Super Mario Brothers for NES way back when I was about 4 years old. Gaming has been a big part of my life and continues to bring me new and exciting experiences all the time.

I noticed that there was an image you posted with an SKS M59/66 with a 30rd magazine. Is it no longer going to be in the mod or did you just leave it out of the list by accident? Would love to see it in the release! (With the ability to fold out the bayonet????)

yeah because they really had to throw a lot of creativity into remaking an existing multiplayer map from a current game that is already laid out to be balanced (thanks to the amazing staff at infinityward). and also, maybe they should clearly state what they mean by "NOSTALGIA" the next time they ever host a contest like this.

nos·tal·gia
a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition

yep, sounds just like what they meant.

yeah, whenever i feel nostagic about it, i wake my desktop from standby and double click an icon on my desktop and load the real game...

Dude, exactly, it still is. Leave bog in COD4. bring back some level from a game no one can play online multiplayer on. Like Facility from Goldeneye (2nd place), not some map from a game that everyone still plays
(including me). it is not nostalgic, it is a thriving game/map right now in its current form. I'm disappointed with the judges on this one. ridiculous. not bashing the winner, good map indeed, just not right for this competition in my (and probably a lot of others') opinion.

what's nostalgic about bog?! i mean seriously, it came out in '07. play it on cod4 with better graphics/gameplay. congrats though i guess.

thanks man. i've got a video posted in my profile demo-ing the map. feel free to check it out(although you already have the map). i also included the music from the actual level in the video.

i actually considered doing hyrule field but it just didn't seem like it would be a fun conventional multiplayer map because of its openness. the graveyard should be finished before the deadline. i've been working on it for about 5 hours. speed editing.

haha, yeah i thought about death mountain, the crater and goron city but, i don't have enough map space to actually do it right. maybe for a separate map... at least death mountain can be seen off in the distance. by the way, i'm working on the graveyard as i'm typing this. freaking sweet so far.

thanks!

i actually was going to include the graveyard but ran out of time to submit it for the contest. i WILL be making it though! and the windmill thing would have taken a lot to make it accessible because id have to create the ground below the windmill out of concrete blocks instead of actual ground. (something i will probably eventually include and just re-upload the new file.) i really wanted to include the grottoes but it would have required using rocks (like you said) to actually create the underground zones since the editor doesn't allow you to carve out the earth. but yeah, the graveyard is coming! be sure to check back soon!
