This is sexy... I got hungry reading this!
One thing I would like to address is
Real mod teams and one man teams vs the studio based mod teams and school based mod teams. Modding has become a "thing to do for money" and you will see studio mod teams join this and school teams and while thats great and all but for the true mod teams I feel like they need a special area. Look at how the GDC had to change the mod competition. They ended up taking out regular mod teams cause they found that the studio mods and school mod teams were on a higher level and didn't want to see it be unfair. Something I don't see this being fixed in this competition as a moder is a moder regardless on how me makes the mod.
Released mods after last years is key for me. Last year should be last year. Like the GDC awards show they just dont have the same game up each year if they win or loose they look for new games and devs.
The Black Mesa is a great mod but the comments of hope they win again is sort of old.
