So we get the 2013 trailer in 2014?
"You will have to signal your suit to make a duck-jump"
Hazard Course has been up on ModDB already
As long as you guys base Gina's design on either the HL1 hologram or the HD Day One model it should look fine.
Just don't take inspiration from the Decay model, GBX's version looked like a man with a unibrow and makeup.
Well there were parts of On a Rail that were good, but it was overshadowed by the really convoluted and confusing parts.
I think BM's On a Rail was really a step up, except it was too short. In the original it felt like the old missile silo was miles away, like you really traveled far, while in BM it didn't feel like that.
I think with the new ideas and redesigned areas of BM's on a rail + some of the old set pieces and segments of HL1's OAR it could find a nice middle ground so that it's longer and gives a feeling of a journey without dragging on like the original did.
The second option would be kind of arrogant don't you think, as yes maybe they didn't think up the game, but the entire team still put just as much hard work as other mods, if not more, to try and deliver a polished and stellar product.
I personally fail to see how remaking one of the most solid and fun games of all time serves to somehow make them less deserving of recognition just because it's a remake.
Amazing work, I really hope you get on the dev team
Looks awesome. I'm probably alone here, but it reminds me a lot of Hexen for some reason
Some of the things Hexen 2 did would really be great to have in the mod - tons of breakable objects, and weaponry like the powered up scarab gun from the assassin, with how it lifts up and rips apart enemies. Just ideas like that could really go a long way towards making the gameplay more fun.
Wow so much like daggerfall. DF + Hexen = win
Automag from Unreal as well?
lol crysis shotgun
Will this be re-animated or will it utilize the lifeless HL2 RPG anims?
Probably won't happen, but will the animations have the pin on the grenade swing at all? I really liked that about HL1's grenade.
Also, will the weapons have idle anims that play after a little bit? I never liked how HL2's stock weapons were always just perfectly still.
I really hope this mod succeeds, Black Mesa got me interested in playing through the HL saga again, and the HL2 beta has always fascinated me and seemed like something that I would have adored had it come to fruition.
They provide the .fgd file to make maps with this mod, so if you can find people you could probably make a "map pack" for black mesa recreating those mods
Just to make sure, can it run HL2 and its episodes well? Or barely? Because if you have trouble running EP2, this mod will run worse. But if EP2 runs fine you should be good.
They dropped the Source out of the name several years ago ;)
Is this dead?
I guess you didn't actually read anything that's been posted
I'll take that bet
Best thing is to just ignore them, and enjoy it. They don't play it, it's not like they gain anything.
I'd rather have them take the time to make a properly realized Xen chapter thats engaging and enjoyable while I get to play most of the game, then if they just remake the original levels with their design flaws and make them prettier so they could release it all at once.
So is the plan to stick to CE2 until your first release, or do you guys plan on porting to CE3 at all?
I don't mind either way, just curious if the new tech CE3 offers is beneficial enough to warrant an upgrade for this mod.
Pretty awesome looking
It could do with some horns on the helm though.
And I'm not quite sure that helmet fits a "Cleric" I mean after all isn't he a holy man? I still like it a lot.
Is the Tau cannon set up to use the actual HL2 hands? A lot of other versions I've seen of the tau use the same model that has its own "set" and doesn't work with custom hand skins, so you get all other weapons having that cool hand skin you got, and then the tau has the default crappy hands
Also that's awesome that you made the gluon gib. It just wouldn't be as awesome as HL1's without the ability to gib things.
reminds me of BF2 levels. Excellent mapping work guys. The amount of detail is great, and shows how capable source still is of producing good graphics.
Question about weapons - will they have idle animations? I always hated how HL2's stock weapons almost all had no idle anims, they looked so lifeless compared to HL1, since HL1 had gordon play with his weapons or stretch his fingers, etc.
BM devs were already offered jobs by valve a while ago and declined.
The **** are you talking about? That's the weapon selection bar that disappears when you stop changing weapons...
