i would say that the orange tip (barrel) looks too low-poly - the HD pack's Gauss looked more round! other than that, excellent.

For v1, I'll actually make three separate releases, each for HL, OF, and BS. HL is closest to completion; expect that around mid-June
middle sci's glasses texture should be chrome+additive
smoothing. there's a gigantic difference between a properly and improperly smoothed model.
Use new models to replace those HL2 props, or at least get them reskinned.
panthereye would better replace the zombie, if anything. it's just ridiculous with the headcrab.

ha, at least it's not the original :P i don't think there are any models where you'd be able to see the sleeve for more than a second, so it'll be fine.
all of that together is around 3500. however, there aren't any models that have both upper arms, and both hands visible, so unseen faces will be deleted for optimization.
it's mainly based on the original models, with some influences from the HD pack occasionally. i'll be releasing a beretta and M4 compile, along with a couple other goodies when 1.0 is released too.
doesn't look very good, really. you should go to forums and post screenshots for improvements and critiques so you can improve until you can create a release-worthy skin. cheers.

yeah, you get this effect if you chrome+additive the 512* model textures. the change from red to grey is more subtle and realistic when you chrome+additive the 64* textures.

you made the crowbar textures themselves additive, not the chromes.
yeah, proper modelling is more like it. this is one case where turbosmoothing will be useful--more vertices to work with.
To me, it shouldn't be such a sudden switch between ground and liquid. It IS liquid after all, make there be a transition between the two.
