lol, yeah, from a month or two ago.
... I had an mp5 rig for you. oshit.
WOW AIN'T COCAINE GREAT PAL?
just because it's your first -anything- doesn't mean you should let the world see it. get some experience and release quality things rather than doing cheap or low-quality edits that anyone can do.
this is a terrible recolor, considering that you even made the gray parts green. terrible. don't upload things that aren't worth our time.
gonna model on a zeiss scope or stick to the original style?
btw, that shotgun looks a bit odd. what's up with the thumb? :s
idea- juxtapose wireframe overlays of your models when you post them, so those in the community who model could give tips on optimization and modelling or get tips.
it can look great on v_models in some cases. i.e. a magnum model. not always though. look at the SC4 python, find example of a kickass magnum with a chrome overlay.
the problem with chrome overlays comes when they're used on a hand model, because of how the tripmine uses the world/set submodels.
whoa! that original style shotgun remake in your header! beautiful!
was actually planning on using that shotgun in a mod i'm working on, called further data. is that all right by you? wonrz was fine with it.
what a shame! must be neat seeing how he was.
yeah, proper modelling is more like it. this is one case where turbosmoothing will be useful--more vertices to work with.
no hablo espanol
some of them might look better as plain additive.
r1chard really loves chrome overlays, i think he used them on almost every NPC. the thing about chrome is, well, it doesn't matter how the smoothing is on chrome, it'll be rendered the same when it's compiled/in-game. shading doesn't properly apply to it, so it's not a very good idea in most cases.
looks like the chrome texture needs to be additive too.
the gloves are the original gloves, putting that texture on is...backwards and it looks awful.
slick looks good with glasses! hehe. make sure rosenburg's shirt texture matches too, btw :p
Could you possibly send me that map? lol I was planning on doing that sometime :p
middle sci's glasses texture should be chrome+additive
Probably the only modding trolls who will ever get press coverage.
Sweet. Sounds good to me! I'm in the process of revamping all the weapons in Half-Life and Opposing Force, and redoing a lot of things for blue shift. then gonna get some coding done and do a big media release! so i'm planning lol. who knows what the future holds. good luck with all your projects!
you replaced barney.mdl? or did you tell the map to use a different model?
FOV rape is really noticeable if you look at the floor tiles. that's one of my least favorite things about goldsource :p textures are looking superb though.
aah all right, whenever you have time is fine with me. just don't forget about it! :p
how's the bullsquid look? :P
i totally revamped the sleeves and handpak textures today
use FN SLP
"I smoke weed and listen to heavy and/or thrash metal."
aw man... idiots out there, huh? :\
city 14 will actually scare us more than 17.
I'm what you could call... "slow."
It seems to be the toughest discipline in modding because it involves a lot of measurements and animating. I'll prolly take a class on it in the future, but meh.
Right now I'm trying to hack hands. Little luck so far. It's more difficult than I thought, but I'll bet you think it's pretty basic, amirite?
Do you like modelling?
I'm going to give it a try at some point, but I've heard it's very precision oriented.
I'll just miss out on some features like detail textures :D
but not in a few months, when I get my Core i7 PC that will own this game.
So I won't be able to have the new planned weapons in the WON version?
Do you mean like the Hgrunt can change weapons mid-battle [or idle]?
Will it really be a noticeable thing, do you think, or no?
Hey, no problem. I loved your Half-Life SD pack, it was frikkin' sweet, and now you're doing the first overhaul for Blue Shift I've ever seen. No one seems to like it. Why did you decide to do this? Just curious. I almost liked Blue Shift more than OpFor (call me crazy) because it gave Barney, or, er... "B. Calhoun" more of a personality. It just seems like Adrian could have had more depth to his character. Some people say Gordon has none, but come on. He's a badass scientist B-)
Even though this is being built for Steam, will its files work for the WON version? Or... like, it could be installed to the standalone Blue Shift, and then converted with Blue Shift: Unlocked. Because, if I recall, the standalone Blue Shift featured the same GCF stuff as in the Steam version.
You guys sure do work hard.
It's amazing: you guys do all this work -- for free.
Capitalism at work, baby. Gotta love it.
Do you have any future plans for mods after this one? I'm just curious... I'm going to get a new computer soon, custom built, and then I'm gonna have a try at making textures. I could possibly do work with that in the future, but that's a ways away at the moment.
Maybe by the time I'm good at making textures I could help with an update on Opposing Force.
