very cool, im guessing that theyre cell shaded? just thinking the black outline makes it look like that but im probably wrong and its just shadow...

i rendered these ladies in blender, then when i took a screenshot and imported them to gimp, i applied a toony outline to them... forgetting i did so, i saved it and uploaded :D. More or less you were right
