What advantage do you gain from seeing the player model? Will interactions with items remain conventional? e.g. walk over item = pick up item OR press <e> to pick up item.
Great to hear :) Good luck!
Ace art direction. Aiming to use watercolours all the way through development?
Not sure if you have done so elsewhere but you really should mention there is a demo on your site Anodynegame.com Not sure how much content is in it. I think I completed the first dungeon and then that's it?
What's the controller like? It looks huge.
I'm a bit squeamish. That looks nasty. Oh... %&@#! Now I'm going have to read it to find out. EDIT: Ugh it only comes with the game which I don't even own. OK so maybe that's not a bad thing. I can barely handle watching the Russian dashboard compilations. And they're not even that bad!
"The project has had a good start, but since I bought so many games in the Steam sales, I won’t have time to work on it. So, we need people to help while I go through all my new acquisitions."
Classic. So far I'm intrigued. Reminds me I've yet to play Water. I'd not heard of Last Zombie. Why was it hated?
Voting on Greenlight right this minute. Glad to hear pre-orders are coming. I think this will be a bit of a sleeper hit.
******* wasps man. Get into everything. Even your trailer. I very much like the look and sound of this. Oh you have other amazing projects. Eye candy!
No need for sassy posing. Thehawkeyeinitiative.tumblr.com has you covered for that. ****, so glad some you put a beret on her. Who goes into battle with their hair out? OH&S people!
Great trailer. Patch is definitely my cup of tea. Checking out demo now.
Is this the same build that's available from your website (May 22)?
Does Fray include 'play by email' for multiplayer?
I should add that Desura was developed to know the default directory that mods should be installed to, so for Source mods, Desura will install the mod to the correct path by default and the game will show up the next time you start Steam. If your Steam directory is in a different path you can choose to install it there. So you don't even have to bother adding the game manually to Steam like I mentioned above.
You only have to use the client for installation and patches. It doesn't need to run in order for you to play the game. It uses your ModDB account as it is run and developed by the same group of people. If you're so inclined you can add the game to your Steam library and launch it from there. Desura is less obtrusive then Steam as it doesn't require any background process or services to be active for you to play your games. So i'm not sure what your issue is with using a great service that comes in at about a whopping 35MB or so installation.
Why did I not pick this up when it was bundled with Overgrowth. Pity the fool.
Is widescreen implementation out of the question? The reason I ask is because you mention controller compatibility which sounds great but I tend to only use controller when playing on the htpc and when you're on the couch those black bars a lot more obvious and I avoid using stretch.
Anyway, I just wanted to say I enjoy your updates because they're very informative.
I took a drawing class at uni once (totally by accident - the unit description got all mixed up by admin). It literally hurt the front of my head to try and draw. Just something my brain refuses to do.
I asked this because Valve have stated that their traditional game submission process has been suspended for the time being in favour of Greenlight. As far as I'm aware this means all indie and mod devs have to use it (including teams that have had previous business relationships with Valve).
Will you have to use Greenlight or is there an existing arrangement?
Get back to work!
Ok well I ran through it again. And I worked out it out. Enjoyed it. Train was fun (I can see why people get into train sims now). I'll PM some other questions/feedback.
I'll have another go and see if I can work it out :)
I don't think you need to make hutman mandatory unless he's providing some sort of clue for latter parts of the game. I was happy listening to him and just wanted to point out that choosing to go out the back would load the next area, cutting him off, which I hadn't expected.
You're meant to die. Does the demo include sandbox mode?
Also Projectzomboid.wikia.com (tutorial). First things first, give Kate a pillow...
I got stuck trying to start the train. Also, L is mapped to some lighting option I suspect you were using in development?
When I met the first guy in the shack, I kept exploring while he was talking and I opened the back door which cut off all his dialogue.
Can't be sexual equality until you include asexual characters and zombies too. What? Just sayin...
As cupogoodness said the art direction was the number one reason why many people purportedly didn't buy the game. Q.E.D. Change to a more appealing art style = more sales (and hopefully keep everyone employed).
Indie Royale and Humble Bundle have hundreds of applicants. I'm sure they've thought of it.
Good luck on the do-over!
there is still a month or so to go (Indiegogo). Follow the link :)
Hey just saw from your comment in previous posts your reason for choosing indiegogo. Bummer about KS being only available for peeps from the US (and soon the UK sometime during the Autumn up there).
Well that's not so great news. I'd be interested to know the success rate of gaming projects on indiegogo compared to kickstarter. If it doesn't come through perhaps a switch of crowdfunding sites and relaunch of the appeal?
Also, I'm a bit confused about the 4th part of the funding goals - Making it DRM free. Is it possible to release Source engine games without the need for Steam (considering that is a form of DRM)?
Good luck with your endeavours guys. What we've seen so far looks pretty sweet.
