Since you are working on a fantasy project, I suggest working on stuff that will be easily transferable to MERP.
Also, why do you think a response is taking so long? Do you think they are deliberately ignoring you?
Houghton Mifflin, the one by Harper Collins is twice as expensive which is crazy.
I have just bought the 50th Anniversary Edition of LOTR and I am also planning to buy a map of Middle-Earth. Unfortunately, there are a lot of maps on Amazon and very few are as detailed as I would like. I'd like it to be big, very detailed, beautifully illustrated and if possible contain auxiliary maps of important regions. Can you help me out? :)
Also, congratulations for getting 28000 signs, just 2000 more till 30000!
I thought that was obvious.
Here is some PERFECT Inn music for your mod Youtube.com
If WB lose the trial, then they still need to be careful of the Tolkien Estate (just to be sure) so if they use IPs from these countries, they might gain some extra safety.
They seem to believe THEY are the reason why LOTR is popular. Have they no shame?!

The battle for Middle-Earth has begun!
8 Gigs of RAM are useless for Skyrim since it is only 32 bits, which means that it can use only 2.5 GB (3.5 with the patch)...What were they thinking?!
Here is a very interesting theory about "evil" Tom Bombadil Km-515.livejournal.com
I doubt it's that simple.
Do you guys think WB is deliberately ignoring you?
I'm fairly certain he would disagree. I can't find the source(s) but he wasn't particularly happy when his fans used names or characters and places or made unofficial sequels. I think you will find evidence of this in his letters. Also, his son believes it is his DUTY to preserve the integrity of his father's works and would most certainly shut MERP down if he found out. So don't get any bright ideas about sending him letters asking permission because he WON'T and will probably attract even more trouble to the mod. He might see this as a stain on his father's legacy and he CAN and probably WILL use legal action.
BTW, this comment wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at every follower of this mod. The Tolkien family, although a nice bunch, are not very appreciative of such fan works.
Do you think they are deliberately ignoring you? Also, in light of the recent events, what does your lawyer think about your situation?
What makes you think you will have news during spring?
Hmm, well I will start a thread on Doomworld and maybe you could also send tweets to Carmack and not just Id? We have modding because of him not really because of Id. You can also try advertising the mod on gaming sites like Black Mesa (I think I saw AirRaid post there?) and lastly contact some gaming news sites like PCGamer or Rock Paper Shotgun.
Doomworld still seems like the best place to gain attention though, maybe even Quakecon.
If that's the case, they've already lost, there are a lot of huge LOTR mods out there like TATW so they have practically already lost their rights.
MMO-Champion and Scrolls of Lore sound like a good start.
Woah, this is almost if not just as good as good as Phobos, amazing!
Now that the source code is out, will you also release it for the BFG Edition?
Will you be using Vurt's Flora Overhaul and WATER?
When can we expect the first demo?
Do you even realize what you are saying? That would be a legal nightmare.
I doubt PJ had anything to do with this.
I would be very happy if we got a heightmap with cities and villages.
Here are some very interesting links!
If you win this, what do you think about using Russian IPs? You know, just to be sure?
Yes, but TE could also be against this. Keep in mind that Christopher Tolkien considers that it is his DUTY to maintain the integrity of his father's works and is quite unpredictable as a person so we don't know how would he react if he were to find out.
Here is what the Tolkien Estate has to say about fanfiction:
Can I / someone else write / complete / develop my / their own version of one of these unfinished tales ? (or any others)
The simple a1nswer is NO.
You are of course free to do whatever you like for your own private enjoyment, but there is no question of any commercial exploitation of this form of "fan-fiction".
Also, in these days of the Internet, and privately produced collectors’ items for sale on eBay, we must make it as clear as possible that the Tolkien Estate never has, and never will authorize the commercialisation or distribution of any works of this type.
The Estate exists to defend the integrity of J.R.R. Tolkien’s writings. Christopher Tolkien's work as his father’s literary executor has always been to publish as faithfully and honestly as possible his father's completed and uncompleted works, without adaptation or embellishment.
From this I understand that only commercial exploitation is illegal but what is the purpose of fan-fiction if it is made only for private enjoyment?

Wow, grats for 25k!
Just in case you definitely decide to not make the next episodes, have you considered making a proper ending for RAGE now that the tools are coming out very soon?
One more thing, can we expect a release until March?
