THAT is the definition of awesome!
I understand making characters like Aragorn or Gandalf nigh invincible but I think making Frodo and Sam extra powerful would be against their character, I mean they are SUPPOSED to be vulnerable. Of course, if they are easy to kill, they should also be very hard to find.
Killing Frodo would be very cool!I like the idea.
With such a big world, what will you populate it with?
I sure hope it will :)
Well, someone's been playing TATW a lot :D. I hope the battles in MERP will be just as epic.
One does not simply hurr into Murrdurr.
You should also take a look at this sailatlas Skyrim.nexusmods.com
Have you guys taken a look at this? Forums.bethsoft.com
It's not just that, I think PJ wanted Gondor to look distinct from Rohan (which is quite reasonable)
About weapons/armor. Will you have a more realistic stance than Skyrim on this matter?I think bandits in plate - even chainmail is quite unrealistic as armor was very expensive in the middle ages. In my opinion, plate armor should be hard to craft/obtain because in real life only the richest had access to such armor. In the movies, Rohan was portrayed quite realistically but I'm not so sure about Gondor, I mean every grunt in the gondorian army had plate armor( although it was VERY cool to look at)
Something like this? Youtube.com :D
That's really cool! While I was playing Third Age Total War a thing crossed my mind: In battles, when units are very far away, they are turned into 2d sprites of the model. Will you do something similar? Will soldiers also move in battalions and not a silly mess?
I'm really excited about your new battle system, I believe it will go very well with your realism overhaul! Imagine your char is very tired and has to make camp in the wilderness, completely at risk of being attacked by bandits or wild animals. Oh and how about diseases that can kill you or make you stronger but at the same time it can make you go into a frenzy and attack people at random.
If I recall correctly, there is very little mithril left in Middle Earth. One thing that crossed my mind is that you could melt the weapons/armor and then craft the item(s) you desire.
The guys at Third Age total war have been doing so for years and they haven't been punished. In any case, it would be cool if we had a folder for each region(walk, battle etc) to add music. I would personally have a mix of MERP music, Skyrim and movie music.
Will this mod also include english voice overs?
Have you guys ever considered adding a coop mode?I think there is already such a mod for Skyrim. Would it be hard to adapt it to MERP?
While is was playing Third Age Total War I was thinking they could make some total war style battles in MERP using the same gameplay mechanics with you as the commander, sounds really crazy lol.
Even though this is highly unlikely, I hope that during important battles, units will move in batalions and not in a silly mess.
You guys are #1 again! Gratz :D !
Awesome, but the trees in shot 2 look weird is are they still WIP?
In my opinion, it would be unfair to say which mod will be more awesome, considering that neither have been released nor is it fair to say that MERP will automatically be better than Endreal just because it's in Middle-Earth. Sure Middle Earth is already an established world(the best fantasy world imo) but that does not necessarily mean that the qeusts, assets, music voice acting etc. are GUARANTEED to be better. I am quite sure that both will be awesome(and have no desire whatsoever to see Endreal suck even though I like MERP more) and I will have a neutral/realistic stance towards both mods and will hapily support both.
Oh yeah, Captain is right as well, it would be sad to see rivalries between mods saying that one sucks and has no chance against the other, keep in mind that these people are doing this in their free time :)
I hope I have not offended anyone.
Once I saw SureAI there I was very happy :D. Looks like you have some heavy competition!
The only thing thatt bothers me are the trees in shot 4, they look weird...I think I'm gonna go tell them on the forums.
When can we see more shots :D ? I bet you have something awesome in store for us!
I think a cinematic could work after or during a very important event like Helm's Deep(Before, during and after cinematics), Minas Tirith or the destruction of the ring. I do agree that they should be sparse however.
Is it the one from Oblivion MERP? I thought it was kind of small. I think I saw a WIP Barad Dur model on your forums, it looked awesome! Will your new Orthanc be similar in quality?
Is this for some CGI cutscene or for animated portraits?
I was thinking about that myself, I mean Nehrim had 50 VAs, I think. Speaking of Nehrim, do you think your mod will be better than it?
Looks great, although the ground could use more grass.
I have a question: Since you guys are striving for realism, will you make expensive armors like plate less abundant?Plate armor was extremely expensive in the middle ages and yet, every gondorian soldier had full plate in the movies.Yeah it was very cool and I loved it but I think that this kind of armor should not be given to random grunts nor should it be easy to craft like in TES and if I recall correctly, there are very few mentions of plate in the books. What do you think?
