An aspiring game developer starting life as a humble modder, looking to build up a portfolio and break my way into the games industry.
Currently leading development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Wormwood.
I'm intrigued at how you managed to get an apparently very good stealth system into Clear Sky - a lot of people have been trying to do that for any of the games, and this is the best I've seen it yet!
The Great Swamps were inaccessible before the Great Emission at the beginning of Clear Sky, and hence will not be accessible in WotW - that's not to say there will be no contact with Clear Sky however...
Glad to hear it! I hope it was interesting :)
Sorry, Redux is specifically designed to be very challenging, and hence is only designed for the Redux difficulty :)
I'm afraid I don't know that mod - if you know how to merge mods properly, I would say at first glance that I don't see why not :)
You should definitely play through the games without mods (vanilla) before playing with a mod - how can you appreciate what a mod changes otherwise? :) No ETA at the moment though, sorry!
Definitely not - as Equin0x says, pieces like this are for specific moments, there will be many old and brand new ambient pieces for 'everyday' situations.
Thanks! We're trying to, in essence, create an almost entirely new game here. The sort of thing that happened between SoC and CS (changes in level geometry, new levels, new characters, features etc) is what we're aiming for in WotW - better than Clear Sky though of course ;)
Exo-Stalker is correct, there's currently no ETA for completion - it's done when it's done ;)
I believe, the better your processor, the quicker your compile - I'm not sure about RAM, I think most of the work is done with the CPU. I believe the CoP Compilers are indeed multi-threaded.
I appreciate how much you like the Redux gameplay, that means a lot to me :)
However, porting over 'Redux values' as it were for things like economy, supply scarcity, etc are, most of the time, more complicated than you would expect (esp. with the use of completely different levels).
I'll definitely aim to include a nice option for Redux fans (as that's by far how I prefer to play as well) to attempt to bring that feeling into WotW, but I can't promise anything at the moment! :)
The base Rostok/WT maps are taken from SoC but will be modified - just FYI these areas were inhabited during and before Clear Sky but were cut off from the rest of the Zone by the Great Emission.
Probably the latter - constant/semi-constant ambience as in the vanilla games, with special events, areas etc. receiving specific pieces.
Yep, that's the idea behind this piece :)
The mod will be free-play based, with an underlying story to guide the player along if they so choose. CoP-style mission chains (e.g. Bloodsucker Lair) will be an important part of the experience, as well as interesting other single missions. Fetch-me-this missions are important as well, but will not be overdone :) Exploration will definitely be rewarded, with hundreds of brand new stashes and suchlike.
A good read mate - you really have an articulate tongue and the way you write definitely lends itself to your points.
I'm looking forward to future L.U.R.K. builds, and am very happy to see it's back in development!
There will be about as many level changers as there were in Clear Sky, and the mod will contain a compilation of maps from both Clear Sky and Shadow of Chernobyl - e.g. Rostok/Wild Territory, as well as the CS Red Forest (and entirely new levels).
Thanks :) - There will be an option for Redux weaponry for sure, but regarding things like economy, supplies etc, I'm as yet undecided if I'll make a difficulty option along with the default vanilla values.
As soon as the mod is completed I'll be very open to translations, for sure :)
This is the CS Red Forest.
Definitely a warning about radioactive wolves.
Thanks for the offer, but I'm also a bit of a grammar freak and perfectionist in the work I do. It'll be as polished as I can possibly make it :)
It's a mini WotW logo, I'll use when there's not enough room for the full thing.
It's built on the Steam/English Retail version so you will most likely need to patch I'm afraid.
Yeah, and it definitely opens up new possibilities for the mod as well as splitting the workload a bit!
I'm afraid not, at least not by default. If there's enough interest, I may well attempt a Redux-level difficulty option or something for the installer, but I don't promise anything!
Me too! It's nice to have a fun thing to do when a lot of the normal work is so tedious!
Haha I try my best ;)
I'll answer this point in a news article in the very near future :)
A: He's trolling, B: I update quite regularly compared to many mods :P
