I don't think its the video card you need to worry about its the ram.
Inside is a bottle of water... nothing strange about that.
I love how this image has been posted by someone allegedly 15 years of age... Makes me wonder how old one has to be to start seeing issues with the younger generation. Next a foetus will be lamenting the state of the younger generation yet to be.
I set it to "**** **"
Oh wait.... Wrong Fiction
Ahh good point. I thought they were earlier. Well then I don't think its a problem :-P kind of eliminates the historic issue altogether.
I've been waiting for ages.
Thats one tough little button.
It's about time for this vehicle, I was wondering why Digital Mindsoft never made it. Finally someone has and its nice work. I agreed about the panzerfausts, they look good but they limit accuracy for historic scenarios.
Eee gad, they replaced his eyes with sunglasses. What's wrong with these people!!
Hummm, I don't believe it's a common house mouse and it ain't a rabbit hole, sooo... My guess... a badger. If I recall they did make an appearance at Helm's Deep in an alternative musical version :-)
Alternatively for the caption: "Grandma is that you?"
This is actually more frightning.
Camp fires?... in confined indoor spaces?
It would risk starving them all of oxygen and fill the room with noxious toxic smoke and cover the walls in soot. Not to mention the draught if there were any air ventings or open doors.
I want the Tirpitz and a Norwegian fjord to hide it in :-)
One thing I would like to mention. The oak trees seem overly dense with foliage and green for the interior of a wood or forest (not density of the trees). I'd recommend changing it so the inner trees have a slightly more raised canopy, thinner foliage distribution and tall due to competiton for light. I wonder on the species of oak that Tolkien had in mind because of its location near Gondor. Is that mentioned anywhere?
I know its WIP and I realise that it might be a fiddle too far.
I'm loving the scale of the work, the Whispering Wood filled with oak is fantasticly amazing.
WAIT A MOMENT THE PICTURE'S BEEN CHANGED (Taking back some of the above)
Is this really from Mow:ch as it looks a carbon copy (not the first time).
If its not in Mow:ch and they are using it as an offical picture then thats false advertising and a down right dirty business. Lets hope its a genuine mistake.
Im getting so fed up with lazy devs, thinking the customers are chumps.
Also why do they always thing over saturating the lighting and uping the contrast makes a better image!
That "crotch deamon" has got to chafe!
Looking forward to playing this later. Thanks.
Sovereign - supreme power within a limited sphere or leader (probably doesn't fit cybran)
Autonomy - self-governing or free
Paragon - a model of excellence or perfection
Exemplar - an ideal model/example
Avatar - an embodiment
Principal - most important
Looks great, I'll give it a try as soon as I can.
Its the modding world that is putting singleplayer/coop back into Men of War.
They can stuff Assault Squad "skirmish" mode.
I hope I can get my missions completed before the end of the universe. Good to see some people are getting it done alot sooner.
Yeah the AI will burn that fast on invisible pixels and overkill on a single small target hiding behind a solid obstacle. But it would be fun to watch.
I am only guessing but I suspect it's meant to mean only usable through the Gem editor program because its not implemented in the main game or mod. Which means you can use it to create your own battles.
My word. That's quite the veteran.
Löwe or Loewe but not Lowe.
Yeah I like your improvements, I realise there are limitations to what can be done.
It definitely would be out of shot here but I wonder if you plan on including Helm's Dike. I believe it to be a part natural dike (geological) that was augmented by the Gondorians and the Rohirrim. Was irregular in hight up to 20 feet and a cliff to one side spanning the Deeping Coomb.
I like your work, even if I'm not always a fan of the movies. Great work.
I hope the glittering caves are going to be included at the back of the deep (thats probably a mod unto itself).
I do like that the deep is somewhat more extensive than the one in the movie. The film one wasn't really a deeping vale with a stream at all, which gave the impression they didn't read the book properly or know what it was. This looks somewhat more like it should. Maybe aught to open out a bit more behind and lead off to the left towards the caves. Gives a bit more space for a mountain stream and its tributries and all the rest to explore.
Don't forget the deeping road.
Humm, I can't see the wood for the trees...
Hope the dev's don't get lost whilst making it.
Surely Titans hiding behind small shrubs.
I agree with your choices here. Its best to implement all the core elements early to have a funtioning platform to build on. Adding complexity doesn't always correlate with overly time consuming if its done well. So I like your 'ethos' from what I've read and seen.
I really like the look and style of the menus and infomation HUD graphics, they are really clean and elegant. It fits well with the look of the game.
I'm looking forward to this and its ongoing progress.
Great to see they created some new buildings so it doesn't look like every other city/town/farm/airfield in the mow series!
Oh wait... no they havn't.
This game is really milking the MOW series. What a waste of time and money (not like its cheap to buy). Especially when modders are doing a better job with the game already and naturally free of charge. When will they go and create anything truly new to improve the mow game. Things that the modding community can't easily do. Humm great wow some new unit models....
Excellent. This is exactly the sort of thing I've been wondering about trying out. Thank you.
Regarding Palaisy's reply.
That is incorrect.
The fire was red, it flaming spread
The trees like torches blazed with light
Glad about that. Also when I say I love mines (above), I mean that in a game use sense. Just so everyone knows.. :-S
I love mines aslong as its not "lay down millions". That defeats any tactical skill. Best when it's open to options and part of the tactical mix. Maybe laying single traps in key areas might be good?
Attacking with a mine is known as suicide. They are intended for defence. They are great at protecting areas like flanks. I love making the enemy fear them. Mines are great because you don't need many to make the foe think twice about a charge and its sometimes good to let them know you laid some.
That better have a long build time, even with quick dry concrete. :-P
The description says "It's real life equivalent would be a radio system"
Vox is latin for Voice.
Good to know that I'll be featuring in this mod.
Don't let me down, I want to see myself fishing and chomping on humans.
I'm confident you chaps will do a better job than Peter Jackson's "Green domestos army" and his weak effort with the paths of the dead.
Following with interest (and hopefully fear). Lead the way.
Good post by the way. It's really helpful infomation for everybody. The more the better for a library of knowledge.
Actually it doesn't have to be .dds
For example it can be .bmp
Also if someone accidently takes the image, for example from the south, just rotate to the correct position during edit. Most important is that it is vertical and perpendicular.
Its flat pack for easy shipping.
12 soldiers per box.
The MG sounds very good, except it has a slight sound like it was recorded in a concrete building and not in the open.
Does anyone know, if they're using GEM 2 or GEM 3 (or other) for this?
Edit: It does look more like GEM 2 when I look a little closer.
Like the European Union.
What does get me about this game is the comical (Hollywood) muzzle flash for weapons.
Mg42 with a flame thrower attachment.
But other than some niggles to be ironed out, its moving along ok.
Otherwise known as Wally.
I think the enemy decided to skittle their ship.
Damn it, I hate when I spell "You're" wrong!
Your right, the game engine and the limited map sizes makes long ranges impractical from a tactical perspective. It doesn't fit the scale of the game, sadly.
But from a video making or custom scenario its still interesting.
For me the range is dependant on other factors, such as if the battlefield has been designed with the range in mind or if other mechanics are adapted to fit, like the AI engangement ranges etc. Vanilla worked well in its own way and worked for tactical perposes with the original limitations of the game. The MowAS versions increased ranges stressed out playablilty on some of the smaller maps when using anything more powerful than infantry.
Oh how I love CryEngine.
Yep, that looks really good.
I like the shell casings discarded from the wings.
This guy needs his own TV show or a major film role as himself.
A human "guided" missile
The wheels or bogies in real life are removable. Relatively few Flak 41's were made. The in game Flak 41 dosen't have an accurate in game model anyway.
Thats not true. The french did attack and capture Mulhouse in Alsace for example.
My point was that it didn't occur often and so I mearly pointed out it wasn't as likely with less historic situations to choose from.
This is the first world war. Not many German cities to choose from.
Must be something to do with Dwarves.
You mean scans...
But its ok I don't think anyone noticed.
Technically it doesn't scan perfectly either but hay ho, on we go...
Somethings been changed in the matrix
Damn it... wrong fiction again.
The ninjas are holding them up!
This is great. Really good work and love the smoke and sound effects. Really excellent.
The meaning of the word has no bearing on the joke, merely the knowledge of its context.
A lot of things in the Movies don't make a whole lot of sense. Often things are changed or omitted that end up losing a great chunk of the character/detail/logic from the books & the things that are valued by many are left out. Leading them to be 'Peter Jackson's' LOTR & not Tolkiens.
I give these guys (devs) a whole lot of respect for setting the books & manuscripts of Tolkiens Arda first and walking a finer line. Especially as this isn't a movie but a rpg game where greater immersion and depth is greatly desired.
So let them create their project as they see fit. They are gracious & modest enough to recognise that views will differ on something so grand & engage with the community of enthusiasts of book & film to better the results.
Frankly I may not agree with every nut & acorn (so far I mostly do) but I'm not the one putting in the hours.
So for me; "The road goes ever on and on...
...And I must follow, if I can..."
Your praise is appreciated. I've noted your own map work, so thank you.
It is still in progress with tweeks and script work.
Yeah it does look a bit like someone whacked him with a painbrush.
Must be a world shortage.
Man, I'd be ****** enough to join Chaos too if someone had written on my forehead.
I'm confident I can beat you at Pictionary
I've just tested it and you're totally right it doesn't seem to work. My memory must be terribly poor :-)
It would be good if the game spawned an entity for the smoke but it seems to be part of the object.
Sorry about the confusion.
I might have forgotten how the smoke fx spawns but if its an already crashed/distroyed vehicle at the start of the game, then each smoke fx is its own entity and can be located and deleted. I may have misremembered but thats how I think they can be prevented at the start of the game loading. If I'm way off, someone will correct me I'm sure.
Can't you locate and delete the fx entities for each smoke column? Or have I misunderstood what you meant? :-)
Misuse of artifacts is highly dangerous and not recommended.
Moonwalking to the front.
It's not blitzkrieg. Shamone!
I love this map.
Lovely attention to detail, good lighting. Would love to see more. Interested in the overall design.
I'd enter mine, if I didn't consider it to be ineligible. Plus there are better maps around :-)
I love it. I hope somewhere or somewhen your skins are available to download.
I love this one!
Some really well thought out and researched maps you've made here. It's good to finally see some historic battlefields to go with the historically accurate divisions. Both halves make a whole ;-)
Sounds good and looks good. Looking forward to it.
The new official patch caused all sorts of 'issues' for me, so I've gone back to older patches.
Also, it's the town of Cassino (two S's).
Now U.S.S Cheeseburger would have made a great TV show.
These are the voyages of the starship Cheeseburger...
no its due to a poor/lazy reskin on the model
Looks like you beat me to the release (although thats not difficult with the speed im going) :-P . I'll try it out
That's a really well thought out design and attention to detail. Again realistic lighting settings is superb.
What is meant in the description "... time of day will be changed in more dramatic one"?
Of course, had to do something with thousands of captured equipment.
Absolutely brilliant skin!
Just wanted to say I've done my own skins for fun from time to time and I recommend reducing the vibrance of some of the colours (in this case the green). From real life into a game world its always best to be careful with colours. I really like your work, great effort, keep at it.
I like the ones you've done based on historic paints and patterns best, top job.
p.s My avatar image isn't a good example of subtle or historic, but tiger skin on a kt, I had to do it, :).
