I want the Tirpitz and a Norwegian fjord to hide it in :-)
Yeah the AI will burn that fast on invisible pixels and overkill on a single small target hiding behind a solid obstacle. But it would be fun to watch.
I am only guessing but I suspect it's meant to mean only usable through the Gem editor program because its not implemented in the main game or mod. Which means you can use it to create your own battles.
My word. That's quite the veteran.
Löwe or Loewe but not Lowe.
Yeah I like your improvements, I realise there are limitations to what can be done.
It definitely would be out of shot here but I wonder if you plan on including Helm's Dike. I believe it to be a part natural dike (geological) that was augmented by the Gondorians and the Rohirrim. Was irregular in hight up to 20 feet and a cliff to one side spanning the Deeping Coomb.
I like your work, even if I'm not always a fan of the movies. Great work.
I hope the glittering caves are going to be included at the back of the deep (thats probably a mod unto itself).
I do like that the deep is somewhat more extensive than the one in the movie. The film one wasn't really a deeping vale with a stream at all, which gave the impression they didn't read the book properly or know what it was. This looks somewhat more like it should. Maybe aught to open out a bit more behind and lead off to the left towards the caves. Gives a bit more space for a mountain stream and its tributries and all the rest to explore.
Don't forget the deeping road.
One thing I would like to mention. The oak trees seem overly dense with foliage and green for the interior of a wood or forest (not density of the trees). I'd recommend changing it so the inner trees have a slightly more raised canopy, thinner foliage distribution and tall due to competiton for light. I wonder on the species of oak that Tolkien had in mind because of its location near Gondor. Is that mentioned anywhere?
I know its WIP and I realise that it might be a fiddle too far.
I'm loving the scale of the work, the Whispering Wood filled with oak is fantasticly amazing.
WAIT A MOMENT THE PICTURE'S BEEN CHANGED (Taking back some of the above)
Humm, I can't see the wood for the trees...
Hope the dev's don't get lost whilst making it.
Surely Titans hiding behind small shrubs.
I agree with your choices here. Its best to implement all the core elements early to have a funtioning platform to build on. Adding complexity doesn't always correlate with overly time consuming if its done well. So I like your 'ethos' from what I've read and seen.
I really like the look and style of the menus and infomation HUD graphics, they are really clean and elegant. It fits well with the look of the game.
I'm looking forward to this and its ongoing progress.
Great to see they created some new buildings so it doesn't look like every other city/town/farm/airfield in the mow series!
Oh wait... no they havn't.
Is this really from Mow:ch as it looks a carbon copy (not the first time).
If its not in Mow:ch and they are using it as an offical picture then thats false advertising and a down right dirty business. Lets hope its a genuine mistake.
Im getting so fed up with lazy devs, thinking the customers are chumps.
Also why do they always thing over saturating the lighting and uping the contrast makes a better image!
This game is really milking the MOW series. What a waste of time and money (not like its cheap to buy). Especially when modders are doing a better job with the game already and naturally free of charge. When will they go and create anything truly new to improve the mow game. Things that the modding community can't easily do. Humm great wow some new unit models....
Excellent. This is exactly the sort of thing I've been wondering about trying out. Thank you.
Regarding Palaisy's reply.
That is incorrect.
That "crotch deamon" has got to chafe!
The fire was red, it flaming spread
The trees like torches blazed with light
Glad about that. Also when I say I love mines (above), I mean that in a game use sense. Just so everyone knows.. :-S
I love mines aslong as its not "lay down millions". That defeats any tactical skill. Best when it's open to options and part of the tactical mix. Maybe laying single traps in key areas might be good?
Attacking with a mine is known as suicide. They are intended for defence. They are great at protecting areas like flanks. I love making the enemy fear them. Mines are great because you don't need many to make the foe think twice about a charge and its sometimes good to let them know you laid some.
That better have a long build time, even with quick dry concrete. :-P
The description says "It's real life equivalent would be a radio system"
Vox is latin for Voice.
Good to know that I'll be featuring in this mod.
Don't let me down, I want to see myself fishing and chomping on humans.
I'm confident you chaps will do a better job than Peter Jackson's "Green domestos army" and his weak effort with the paths of the dead.
Following with interest (and hopefully fear). Lead the way.
Good post by the way. It's really helpful infomation for everybody. The more the better for a library of knowledge.
Actually it doesn't have to be .dds
For example it can be .bmp
Also if someone accidently takes the image, for example from the south, just rotate to the correct position during edit. Most important is that it is vertical and perpendicular.
