Its flat pack for easy shipping.
12 soldiers per box.
The MG sounds very good, except it has a slight sound like it was recorded in a concrete building and not in the open.
Does anyone know, if they're using GEM 2 or GEM 3 (or other) for this?
Edit: It does look more like GEM 2 when I look a little closer.
Like the European Union.
What does get me about this game is the comical (Hollywood) muzzle flash for weapons.
Mg42 with a flame thrower attachment.
But other than some niggles to be ironed out, its moving along ok.
Otherwise known as Wally.
I think the enemy decided to skittle their ship.
Damn it, I hate when I spell "You're" wrong!
Your right, the game engine and the limited map sizes makes long ranges impractical from a tactical perspective. It doesn't fit the scale of the game, sadly.
But from a video making or custom scenario its still interesting.
For me the range is dependant on other factors, such as if the battlefield has been designed with the range in mind or if other mechanics are adapted to fit, like the AI engangement ranges etc. Vanilla worked well in its own way and worked for tactical perposes with the original limitations of the game. The MowAS versions increased ranges stressed out playablilty on some of the smaller maps when using anything more powerful than infantry.
Oh how I love CryEngine.
Yep, that looks really good.
I like the shell casings discarded from the wings.
This guy needs his own TV show or a major film role as himself.
A human "guided" missile
The wheels or bogies in real life are removable. Relatively few Flak 41's were made. The in game Flak 41 dosen't have an accurate in game model anyway.
Thats not true. The french did attack and capture Mulhouse in Alsace for example.
My point was that it didn't occur often and so I mearly pointed out it wasn't as likely with less historic situations to choose from.
This is the first world war. Not many German cities to choose from.
Must be something to do with Dwarves.
You mean scans...
But its ok I don't think anyone noticed.
Technically it doesn't scan perfectly either but hay ho, on we go...
Somethings been changed in the matrix
Damn it... wrong fiction again.
The ninjas are holding them up!
This is great. Really good work and love the smoke and sound effects. Really excellent.
The meaning of the word has no bearing on the joke, merely the knowledge of its context.
A lot of things in the Movies don't make a whole lot of sense. Often things are changed or omitted that end up losing a great chunk of the character/detail/logic from the books & the things that are valued by many are left out. Leading them to be 'Peter Jackson's' LOTR & not Tolkiens.
I give these guys (devs) a whole lot of respect for setting the books & manuscripts of Tolkiens Arda first and walking a finer line. Especially as this isn't a movie but a rpg game where greater immersion and depth is greatly desired.
So let them create their project as they see fit. They are gracious & modest enough to recognise that views will differ on something so grand & engage with the community of enthusiasts of book & film to better the results.
Frankly I may not agree with every nut & acorn (so far I mostly do) but I'm not the one putting in the hours.
So for me; "The road goes ever on and on...
...And I must follow, if I can..."
Your praise is appreciated. I've noted your own map work, so thank you.
It is still in progress with tweeks and script work.
Yeah it does look a bit like someone whacked him with a painbrush.
Must be a world shortage.
Man, I'd be ****** enough to join Chaos too if someone had written on my forehead.
I'm confident I can beat you at Pictionary
My word. That's quite the veteran.
Humm, I can't see the wood for the trees...
Hope the dev's don't get lost whilst making it.
Great to see they created some new buildings so it doesn't look like every other city/town/farm/airfield in the mow series!
Oh wait... no they havn't.
Excellent. This is exactly the sort of thing I've been wondering about trying out. Thank you.
Attacking with a mine is known as suicide. They are intended for defence. They are great at protecting areas like flanks. I love making the enemy fear them. Mines are great because you don't need many to make the foe think twice about a charge and its sometimes good to let them know you laid some.
That better have a long build time, even with quick dry concrete. :-P
Actually it doesn't have to be .dds
For example it can be .bmp
Also if someone accidently takes the image, for example from the south, just rotate to the correct position during edit. Most important is that it is vertical and perpendicular.
I've just tested it and you're totally right it doesn't seem to work. My memory must be terribly poor :-)
It would be good if the game spawned an entity for the smoke but it seems to be part of the object.
Sorry about the confusion.
I might have forgotten how the smoke fx spawns but if its an already crashed/distroyed vehicle at the start of the game, then each smoke fx is its own entity and can be located and deleted. I may have misremembered but thats how I think they can be prevented at the start of the game loading. If I'm way off, someone will correct me I'm sure.
Can't you locate and delete the fx entities for each smoke column? Or have I misunderstood what you meant? :-)
Misuse of artifacts is highly dangerous and not recommended.
Moonwalking to the front.
It's not blitzkrieg. Shamone!
I love this map.
Lovely attention to detail, good lighting. Would love to see more. Interested in the overall design.
I'd enter mine, if I didn't consider it to be ineligible. Plus there are better maps around :-)
I love it. I hope somewhere or somewhen your skins are available to download.
I love this one!
Some really well thought out and researched maps you've made here. It's good to finally see some historic battlefields to go with the historically accurate divisions. Both halves make a whole ;-)
Sounds good and looks good. Looking forward to it.
The new official patch caused all sorts of 'issues' for me, so I've gone back to older patches.
Also, it's the town of Cassino (two S's).
Now U.S.S Cheeseburger would have made a great TV show.
These are the voyages of the starship Cheeseburger...
no its due to a poor/lazy reskin on the model
Looks like you beat me to the release (although thats not difficult with the speed im going) :-P . I'll try it out
That's a really well thought out design and attention to detail. Again realistic lighting settings is superb.
What is meant in the description "... time of day will be changed in more dramatic one"?
Of course, had to do something with thousands of captured equipment.
Absolutely brilliant skin!
Just wanted to say I've done my own skins for fun from time to time and I recommend reducing the vibrance of some of the colours (in this case the green). From real life into a game world its always best to be careful with colours. I really like your work, great effort, keep at it.
I like the ones you've done based on historic paints and patterns best, top job.
p.s My avatar image isn't a good example of subtle or historic, but tiger skin on a kt, I had to do it, :).
Well under this logic, he can't move his arms, legs, eyes, face, think, talk... anything.
I'm sure its known as something.... ahhh yes, DEAD!
Therefore the logic argument deconstructs at the point at which the "imagined" character in the "imagined" universe is controlled by "imagined" fictional supernatural constructs of nature as definded by the creator.
That is to say, by accepting the conclusion that it is a fictional concept and that the characters ability to act in a fashion resembling the living is entirely ficticious, one can conclude that the suggested logic is no longer applicable within the said context.
p.s. There is no such thing as simple logic.
I'm more interested in the guy in the back that looks like they've had a bag of flour poured over them.
Also, they arn't fighting, they are dancing.
Ragdoll glitch. Had that in battlefield.
I love how this image has been posted by someone allegedly 15 years of age... Makes me wonder how old one has to be to start seeing issues with the younger generation. Next a foetus will be lamenting the state of the younger generation yet to be.
I set it to "**** **"
Very nice. I like the detailed work and textures on the contoured terrain.
Chaos Theory when you least expect it
Oh wait.... Wrong Fiction
In the editor put in custom parameters in place of default values when creating a map area. You can also add to the map area using the terrain tools.
Oh my! What the hell did they do to its hair!
I have a question for anyone in the community.
I am curious to know if it is possible to increase the fuel value (not each individual vehicles capacity) so that say one unit of fuel goes twice or three times as far? Because I have so far been unable to locate the files that relate to it.
Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
Looks like a classical painting.
Just what you don't want at a checkpoint in baghdad.
If only Julian would have a goofy smile, then he'd be "Disney", "I can't wear a shirt with buttons" material too.
Also someone seems to have coloured in Julian's face!
Thats a better review than most.
I think your removing too much colour, and the method your using seems to be the reason for the purple tint and the increasing lack of red and green.
Using the third one from the top of this page as an example, I would take the RAL 8017 (Red brown) layer and try to adjust the colour hue very gently to bring the shade closer to the middle one, yet not making it as bright.
I think its the method your using to remove vibrancy is too heavy and you need to find a balance between brightness and colour.
For a game I would usually lighten relative to the real world and reduce the colour vibrancy but only by small amounts.
They look suprisingly similar after using the samples. Although I still think there is something going on with the purple hue (that might just be the image), the new example is quite dark and its lost some of the contrast and highlights.
Was that using a straight sampling with no changes?
Because if it is I think it shows your own ones are are quite close and that it would be the result I'd expect without adjustments.
Like I said your choices are really quite accurate already, in my opinion they just needs a few tweaks here and there. Some of the best I've seen regarding history.
I actually had a set of colours from a paint suppliers colour chart who got it as close to the original as seems possible. They had the colours on their website for painting historic models. If only I could find the images I downloaded I'd give them to you. I'll PM you if I find them again.
That might be true of the majority but the "three" individuals with an all expenses paid rehabilitation ego trip seem to be everywhere at the same time throwing the word noob around like free condoms during aids awareness week.
I totally see your point and depending on the game I tend to sometimes feel the same way regarding real world realism.
But with SupCom though, it is a hugely stylised game and relies on the improbable all the way to the crazy impossible. It's somewhat its charm. I mean has anyone ever mentioned that the scale of the games huge mechs would collapse under their own weight or that using battleships that fire unguided artillery is obsolete? ;-D
That "watermark" is verging on acid etched.
All you need now is the young child the statue carving is stamping on and you've got a worldwide hit on your hands.
Just what the Aeon need. Looks really great.
Especially since I dislike the vanilla Galactic Colossus, which single handedly ruined the Aeon for me in the original game. This is much more like I'd imagine Aeon.
Woopsy, missing an R :-)
Also arn't they just called just escort not escorter?
More importantly nice ship.
Wait a minute... that's not Putin!
Nobody owns Tolkien and nobody owns creativity and I will fight anyone who claims they do.
This shows how broken the laws are to do with copyright, "intellectual property" and corporate power.
What would Tolkien think of all this?!
Thankfully I bought the rights to Tolkien's opinions. So I can tell you he thinks warner bros need to take a running jump into Mount Doom.
Seems you forgot to move the mouse cursor off screen in two of the pictures. But I like the thought and detail thats gone into the map.
Totally agree about the Roddenbery philosophy and "reboot" (ughhh I hate the term reboot, sounds like everything these days can be "wiped" and started again with a press of a button). I treat the two as competely seperate entities and only have a heart for the originals and TNG.
Loving the detail going into this, much passion.
I know it seems ironic and hypocritical looking at the King Tigers in my avatar and profile header, but they are intentionally garish and not recommended for combat :-P
p.s. I like that your using an historical palette.
I agree with the above.
The middle one is possibly too bright and vibrant.
The third one is also reasonable, although it seems to have a greater purple hue (they all have a slight purple in the third shade).
Looks like that was fun to film.
What he should say is "...an easy way to NOT do it"
So 1000 systems and I'd end up with long hair, long finger nails and very old by the time I'm finished. Excellent.
You mean like a wiff of extra strong cheddar?
How mature is "extremely mature" I always thought that was around 62.
Just wondering has anyone thought of making a map a bit like those old metal maps from Total Annihilation, especially that one with lots of dividing walkways and closed off areas. Probably doesn't play well under the new mechanics but I used to love that map.
Ooo... Awkward! (he sang in a shrill and dramaticly camp voice)
Looks like it's about to hit the dirt. Nothing like being overweight and top heavy to ruin your dream of being an athlete.
Reminds me of that russian experimental tank that broke in half trying to cross a river. But anyway MORE GUNS! BIGGER GUNS! that'll fix it...
Cleans the skin right off.
Regarding Palaisy's reply.
That is incorrect.
The fire was red, it flaming spread
The trees like torches blazed with light
The description says "It's real life equivalent would be a radio system"
Vox is latin for Voice.
Good post by the way. It's really helpful infomation for everybody. The more the better for a library of knowledge.
Now thats impressive. Much improvement, great job.
If your using Vista or 7, print screen doesn't work that well. Best to use a third party screen capture software e.g. Fraps.
Very, very impressive. I hope this turns out as good as you hope. Best of luck.
Because it's artillery...
Harrower Class - implements used to level the ground, stir up soil.
or Polestar Class something that serves as a guiding principle
something that is the center of attention or attraction.
Might not be suitable for this one, but maybe good for other ships.
I'm putting up too many already.
I can't help it that I like words ;-)
Great work with this mod by the way, best of luck.
Links in with the other UEF Summit class battleship
payara (vampire fish)
The detail is incredible. It looks good enough for a top quality FPS let alone RTS.
I'd say better than any of the new MOW:AS models.
MOW will look better than Assault Squad with this mod.
Indeed, I believe so.
Good old flag waving. "yoo-hoo, Germans, we're over here!"
I really hope it works.
Your right, many cross platform games, mostly so called AAA titles, end up working to the lowest common denominator, which are the consoles.
Great mod, I'd seen an older version I think you made on another site but forgot about it.
This is an interesting change, even if the new layout confused me for a little while. I like the extra space for viewing scrollable menus like production queue and research.
Overall useful to have, Thank you
This looks absolutely amazing!!
I already prefer this to Battlefield 3 for so many reasons.
That is an Iron Cross to correct you. Its known as a Balkenkreuz and unsuprisingly its related to the Iron Cross and is a symbol of the Wehrmacht Heer, the Luftwaffe, and the Kriegsmarine of the German armed forces not just the Wehrmacht.
I only mention this because everyone keeps wanting to split hairs about everything on the internet, so I reckon I'd have a proper go at it aswell.
