My name is Markus and I hail from Finland, the land of frost and snow! I am a cellist, artist, visualist and a true Pagan by heart. Though, I really must admit that I've been working the project for several years now and done quite a many mistakes, which is why the project has taken so long a time to get accomplished. But now it's again on solid bases, so things are getting better!

I'll give proper details about the coding work when the time arises.

Yes, it is based on the world of Faerûn, Forgotten Realms setting, but I try to keep the references to FR books, games, material rather small. Of course there are towns and villages, some historical references to help the players understand some things which are and are not. I am not ripping anything off, of course not, but I will add some references so the hardcore FR fans who know about the history, timeline and the world alike can maybe get more out of the adventure by realizing certain elements withing the mod. But mostly, I will add much unique, original material and other settings to keep the mod away from the Drizzt/Elminster and other already-seen-before material.

And I must add, that I haven't even read more than 7 FR related books/novels, so it's funny I am not even a fan of the FR-related novelty itself ;p . I just find the world of Faerûn interesting and the elements it can offer to a huge scaled project such as The Moonlight Path.

And thank you for the cheerful comment, I will gladly die after the project is completed thoroughly, before that, a miracle is required to get me rid off from this world, damn it!

About weapons, I am trying to keep them rather minimalistic, to be truthful. I don't want too many "epic/superior" items and weapons, they come along as a specialty and earned by deeds and actions, rather than buying them from local market and blacksmiths alike. I would love to add also an Icewind Dale-ish adaption for the weapons; having bad, low, average, high, superior quality weapons and items found during adventure, which could be enhanced at certain places and so forth.

I don't want too many "God-killing murder machine Longsword +7" items, if you know what I mean :) .

Ah, a good question! Player can be both male and female, there is no restriction to that. I always just tend to write descriptions that depict the player as "her" instead of him/one. It can be somewhat misleading, but it's just stuck on me, so can't help it ;p .

ALPHA and BETA tests are both in making currently and a big update coming in the following weeks/months/years/I really don't know, but hope you can wait until I get myself arsed to complete the update!

Yes, I have read and experienced also some truly poor stuff, especially written dialog *ahem* Bethesda *ahem* and whatever weird twists and useless plot-lines. I have excelled my skills in writing both dialog and story-based writing over the years, and there my talents are on place. Of course I am fairly adequate with many other things, sure, but writing/storytelling is something I really think I execute quite well... and in certain unique style.

Yes, I don't understand why the Endings in games are always so similar to something that has been introduced 20years ago already. Yes, there are many kind of Goods and many kind of Evils and many kind of people who just randomly balance thing to their own allurement or anything else.

I don't want the end to be necessarely something that is obvious from the beginning or happens after an super-mega-epic battle/scene. It needs time after the final encounter (or whatever it will be, no way in hell I am going to tell what's the final scene before the actual end ;D).

I want the ending to be dramatically surprising and something the player never expected, no matter the actions and choices made. It needs to be something that really strikes at you and really opens up the final answer to the final question "why?". So basically I want to fool the player from the very start to draw whatever "obvious" conclusions and then just blast everything at his/her face.

Or then I am just a plain ******* and end the game with a sequence "You drift back from your final encounter and in your deep thoughts, you trip over to a small pebble, hitting your head against a huge stone. Your final moments of heroism ends to an embarrassing fate and death." muahaha.

I am glad that at least some of the supporters of what I try to create are actually talking to me on regular basis. Those people are quite few. Others just lurk in the shadows and silence, waiting for some epic blast to happen.
But it's more gratuitous to talk with the people who wish something to come at their way, than just give something to a mute audience.

Of course the Alignment is a factor in the end, but not in the usual sense of "because I am Evil, I become Lord of Destruction and rule the World with an iron fist, because I CAN!" or being good "I saved the World and now I retire to a cabin atop the Alps and have my life there in peace.... until a new Evil arises" or the clichés we have pretty much seen quite enough.

It is a matter or morals, your choices and actions taken, how you yourself perceive your actions to be Evil or Good, or something from between or around. It's not just the straightforward "**** you, I kill you" or "Lol I help you regardless of you being an *******, but since I am compelled 'cause I am Good" things, but more of a... deeper perspective and nature of dialog and actions chosen.

I am waiting forward even myself of how I will eventually execute the Ending sequences, though I pretty much already have them quite nicely knit together ;)

Well, I must say that it seems that all Bethesda's games share the same flaws, some are fixed or then screwed up even more. The games are hollow, especially the lame dialog and acting. Worlds are intriquing, but that's pretty much it to the whole extent of it.

As for TMP, I am aiming the game play to be interesting that not just direct choices affect the story immediately and define whether you are good or evil. I try to make the gaming experience the way that it surprises you and the player must find his own "Story" - so to speak - and not just follow some pre-defined storyline.
And on top of that, I try to make the player to be able to radically turn from evil to good, or vice versa! For that's something I haven't seen in any game. Of course you can change alignments in all D&D/Forgotten Realms games easily by few tricks, but that's nothing radical nor realistic. I want to give out some sections and choices for the player to learn and repent from actions taken and so forth. That should spice up some gaming experience, me thinks!

And as I apparently lost from the topic, answer to your question is that the intro section will not last that long to get you bored. At least I hope so, hahah.

And of course, if you think you might want to hop in to the team or something, if you think up something to dabble with, feel free to ask more specifics ;).
