Dance your cares away.
I'm glad you're able to go back over and see where you need work and what you did well. I did cover a lot of it in my review, and I'm glad you're taking initiative and working on some of these issues immediately. They will greatly benefit your work in the long run.
I think we know how to bring up maps...
I like the concept, although I will say one thing about this map right now: if you're doing a road or directional map like this, it's best to have some kinds of natural barriers, not something like a chain-link fence if you're in the middle of a natural area. It makes it look less like the player is being directed a certain way and more like there's a path.
The tracks that we are using actually are open-source at this point. The 78 RPM Project is open-source recordings.
It's a basic room with a few misaligned textures. Please reconsider posting images like this. They do no one justice.
We are innovating the main game too. Just we're also making zombies for fun. I'm wondering what's wrong with that.
If this is what I think it is, it's the color correction. Don't quote me on that, though.
Yes, he talks in his sleep. Chickaligaloo indeed.
They did. To host, you need to make your own.
EDIT: I guess I'm wrong.
There's a few things on this I wish to point out:
1. At one point, there sounds like what appears to be something moving in the background, like a paper rustling, near the end. I don't know if that's my mind or ears playing tricks on me, but if it is, it's really something to avoid in the future.
2. Delivery could be a touch better. Right now, it feels like the current voice actor is reading from a paper. If they, next time, tried analyzing the text [reading over each line and making note of the emotion notated in the script] and then tried these lines, it would immediately improve.
I hope this helps.
You got a problem with Mr. Rodgers?
Yes. The music works on Use Key-activated radios. There's two per map. Each plays around a 15-20 minute radio-styled reel of music, announcements in the "world" around the fight, and radio ads.
Yo dude. Invite me to the group, Jimmy?
I'm sorry, but two new features does not a new HUD make.
Several map images, movie clips, and boasting statements that you can't back up. Good trailer.
Actually looks pretty good. If you want something to improve upon, however, look into making the hanger more destroyed. If I'm getting what you're trying to do, you want it to look extremely damaged from the Citadel explosion.
Alright. Just I say again, if there's something that's wrong, please let us know and we will attempt to improve upon it. Don't stoop to mkilbride's level.
And you wonder why I do this, Tabtoxin. It's not right to badmouth a mod on another mod's page. Mkilbride does this, and I would have expected you'd be better than that.
Reminds me a bit of Canvas. You'd better have a good reason, though, for taking over The Half-Life Parallel's page.
If you didn't like 1187, tell us why. Don't just say it's bad. And please say it on our page. We had other problems with this before. And, for the record, we did add noclip back in, just it disables the easter eggs to collect. The rest of the sv_cheats were still active in our first release.
Doesn't give you a reason to have it in the first place.
Once again, you don't do that. You make a placeholder from the HL2 base content. If you take Black Mesa content, you show that you're stealing content, even if it is a placeholder. You just don't do that. Otherwise, like what we're doing, we're calling you out on it.
Um, no it was skyu. He just got freaked out by it.
I was referring more to his removal of a previous comment of mine.
Oh, what's wrong? You can't face the truth?
Yet Desura can do that for you.
Please get the Human Error model out as fast as you can, we'd appreciate it.
Um...hi...listen to their other guy and think for a second.
I am agree.
I think that they mean the artificial lighting is a bit bright on the walls.
Like the mod, but you should consider creating an English voice acting team to supplement your French voice acting team. For those who can't speak French and don't want to read subtitles.
Good move quitting.
Doing this for more attention. You can rob him of his only goal very easily.
Getting better, but I can't help but think that these textures are from Black Mesa.
You should probably do this model all over again. It looks like a toy.
You took the EXACT screenshot that Mission Improbable used as their media release. Go and make your own mod or do not post on here that you're making a mod.
I am pretty certain that a thumb bends that way.
Aw, how cute. A three-year-old attempted to draw a Black Mesa Security Guard.
Long as they credit it, I'm OK.
Does that come with or without the voices, Au?
I know this shot too well. It's taken from Guard Duty, a mod which I work on. Thank you for letting me know you take content Mr. Sugar has.
TeamGT Mustang FTW.
Definitely suggest a retexture a little more hi-res, but for a stage one start, it looks OK.
Either that or make it tactical. This is a basic civilian shotgun.
I love the voice acting and music. :P
Thanks for the compliment. I wrote it and I like seeing people appreciate it.
Awesomesauce. On the level of John. :P
Breaks look too clean, and the texture has the windows in it, creating a wall break through a window. Definitely retexture ASAP.
Wasn't that Ending 4?
Just wait. We're working on stuff. Be patient.
Hey man. What's up?
Just imagine Michael Goldsmith from 1187. Because that's me.
Yeah, they were good.
So, do you want me on?
I'd actually be willing to contribute, if you'd be willing to take me on. Especially with the Tet Offensive in mind.
Also, TeamGT is the group that made 1187.
This has such potential for a single-player game. Don't waste it.
Is there some way to reposition them?
Is it stealing Derpy Hooves' muffins?
I know this is rather late, but Saxon's right. That's what I was saying. I was a bit concerned that another Black Mesa area is not that original, and maybe it could be changed to suit the location, instead of being an annex in another state.
Liking the way this still is looking. Great work as always.
I know this has been pointed out a number of times, but some of the building textures are horridly misaligned.
Alright. Sorry about that.
Also, a good question is who are you, anyway?
Have a look at my page.
Let me run down these comments, Trolley.
1. That post does because it is a basic carbon copy of what Potteh [and to some extent you] did when The Fifties fired Potteh. My only guess for you kicking and screaming is that it exposes the fact you performed a ******* on him, so unless you can give me an argument I can't shoot holes through, I think most people can assume this assertion to be true.
2. Plenty of people do care. Check its rating: 100 on ModDB.
3. If he provided an argument that didn't provide room to open up and cite other things that he has done, we would not do it. Yet, each time he makes any fuss, it's the same thing as something else he has done, leaving us open to recalling experiences.
4. Check 1187 and all of its coded features and the way they work.
You don't want to get involved, but then you get involved if the reader looks a little bit down the page. Nice one.
If Dec has apologized to you, I will ask HIM to confirm that, as hearing it from you is on such a wide range of possibilities, from either being true to being a lie to make you look better. So I take it people making their content from scratch is not "your level?" If you even so much care as to look at the new content [Oh wait! You did, and thumbed down every comment in sight that praised it!] is "your level." There's also a difference between referencing content and leaving the original base model and adding spec maps and black sleeves. Even as a freelancer, you would then be listed in any game credits as actually doing work. No game I've come across from either developer has a reference to the name John Stuart anywhere.
Oh, I'm sorry, I remember you getting mad at Dec Doyle for becoming a more experienced coder. You were then removed from the team after calling 1187 "a **** mod." I can then ask for the related chats when the appropriate people are online. The Fifties, I remember it being a lot different, where you began taking almost unaltered Left 4 Dead 2 content, particularly the hand models of Nick's hands, and then putting them into the game and calling them your work, especially when that was not your department. Ivan's Secrets appeared in The Fifties chat where you cussed them out. Now I'm not 100% certain how that turned out, so I'm going off what I see here, but it looked like you were just as mad at JLea as anyone else. And WW1 Source is a completely different story from what I hear from other developers, and I trust them more. And I'm sorry about the staff listing. "John Stuart" does not appear either.
Well, lets just consider your track record for one second. World War I: Source now posted a chat log of you yelling at them about nothing. The Fifties now did too. I also seem to remember a situation with Ivan's Secrets and one with 1187. You just keep chalking up ways for us to laugh at you. And to round it out, you keep asserting you work for LionHead Studios AND Rockstar Studios, yet when a quick perusing of their staff listings is performed, neither company turns up any name such as "John Stewart" or any spelling therein. You have lost Potteh.
You're one to talk about shameful behavior, Potteh. I seem to remember that you have been banned multiple times from ModDB because you insulted the various people who created this website. Shame, shame, shame.
Don't worry. We're working on it.
They like it, sure, but he does bring up a point. It's OK, but not completely Source-changing like, lets say, Prison Island.
Just wait and see.
I take it you like it, Raven.
Then you lose the insertion of yourself into the story.
