My name is Aro, I am a veteran modder of the older Command & Conquer series. I am most known for creating the Tiberian Sun based project known as Twisted Insurrection (TI). I began work on Twisted Insurrection back in November 2007 gradually building up an excellent group of staff along the way. I am devoted to working on my projects and will never cease development until I can finally label them as finished products. Along with TI, I lead another mod known as Evolution for Yuri's Revenge which changes the game to something entirely new. I am also the mind behind the Tiberian Sun: Unofficial Mini Patch which is a base for new mods, removing all known Vanilla Tiberian Sun bugs and issues. Other duties include being a staff member of other C&C mods all around the community, these mods include: Dawn of the Tiberium Age, D-Day, Robot Storm, Re-Wire and Reign of Steel. If old-school C&C modding is your thing, then you stumbled upon the right person!

Once we feel we have patched and updated Public Beta 5 to the point where all bugs that have been reported and all public feedback has been put into place, we will begin work on a new staff build which will ultimately become Twisted Insurrection 1.0.

The current public release will still continue to get updates even during the development of the next staff build assuming more bugs or critical issues are found. And maybe we'll update it with some new graphics that we produce too, we'll see, but for now Public Beta 5 will be getting lots of changes and additions 'cause you're all great at giving us feedback. :)

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen. I'm just posting to inform you all that the download links for Twisted Insurrection Public Beta 5 have been updated to include the latest updates (the current update as of this post is PB5.035), which I am doing for those of you that seem to be having unusual issues with updating to the latest build via the TI Client.
Since the official release there have been loads of changes and bug fixes applied to the mod all of which are included with this download update, some bug fixes are rather significant ones so I don't want any of you that can't seem to update to miss out on the latest updates.

If you have been able to update your build of Twisted Insurrection successfully, then this is nothing that you should be concerned about as your builds should already be up-to-date. For a view at the full Public Beta 5 changelog and all updates up-to-date, then check out this direct link to the log. Ti.ppmsite.com

I have taken notice of your problem and I have updated the ModDB and PPM downloads to contain the latest version (PB5.035 as of this post). Redownload the mod and it'll be up-to-date. :)

I will not be doing this for every single update though, only for major fixes and a plentiful changelog. For example the next time I upload may be something like PB5.050 or similar, it depends on what changes are made exactly and how big or small the Client updates are.

I think you're mistaken when you say "8 Cyborg Commandos", but unfortunatley AI's do cheat, but never to THAT extent. They're programmed to have some extra cash than what the player receives but also have an annoying habit to ignore prerequisites, so they could pump out Railgun Platforms before they have a Technology Center. This is a known problem in all TS and RA2 mods (and the original games) so there isn't much we can do, but we've tried out best ot prevent it.

Send me a private message and we'll try to get this working for you. If your screen is black, start by making sure you have .NET Framework 2.0 through to 3.0 installed and that you are running the Launcher as an Administrator. This is a common problem...

You have to tell me what mission you're having this difficulty on before I can help you. Also, is your TI build completely up-to-date? PB5.034 is the latest.

I don't understand why large vehicles are any different to the huge infantry that Tiberian Sun had, which some people seemed to like, yet, in some cases vehicles are different and I don't see why myself. Personally, I definitely prefer larger vehicles.

Repair Vehicles would need to be large to be able to repair such large vehicles like the Mammoth, Goliaths, Walkers, SSM's, Venoms, Aircraft etc. no? And things are bigger than the MCV because the MCV isn't anywhere near using a final design? I thought THAT much was already obvious.

Armadillo APC is scheduled for a redesign, so are the Kazuars and the MLRS Walkers. The reason we're "not changing" the Chinooks is because they have already been rescaled in a previous update, along with the Dawn ORCA and a few other vehicles.

Read the changelog before commenting, please, it is right there:

"PB5.019

- Rescaled Twisted Dawn GDI Chinook
- Rescaled Twisted Dawn Nod Chinook"

Your first bug, when it crashes, is it an Internal Error or does it just freeze? This could have been caused if you saved the game before you updated the mod, thus the version is outdated.

Second, this is a Tiberian Sun issue and not a Twisted Insurrection issue, so it's unpreventable I'm afraid. Just make sure you don't command your Machinists of Joy to take over your allies vehicles unless you actually intend to.

Third, this isn't a bug, this is intentional. It's so that you can have more than the player limit on a certain map as you said.

1. There is currently research in progress to allow units to auto-target neutral enemies, but this has unintended side effects. We'll do what we can when we can.

2. Due-to the layout and age of the map (This map is almost 6 years old now!) I'm guessing Dudeinabox was never meant to allow it to be capturable. I can fix it in due time.

3. Nod Mission 8 has a few methods of completing the first objective, there are walkthrough videos on YouTube if you get stuck.

I have to say that I'm struggling to understand what it is that you're trying to say. Sorry.

If your problem is simply that you can't play online because people are using passworded games, then you can host your own game and simply wait for somebody to join, or rather ask somewhere else if anybody wants to play and set a time.

First of all, what version of Twisted Insurrection is your build right now? There was an error ages ago that caused this to happen but it was fixed in an update a few weeks ago. Secondly, you fail if the GDI Radar hasn't been captured.

Your build should be PB5.024 or higher if you update when the launcher prompts you to.

Because the AI ignores prerequisites, this has been a problem ever since the dawn of C&C games and still is up to Yuri's Revenge. The Infinite cash thing isn't necessarily "infinite" but the AI does get a huge cash boost to prevent it from going bankrupt too early in the game (it also prevents an error caused by separate harvesters).

If you're having difficulty, I suggest trying a lower level AI as your opponent, by the sounds of things you're choosing the difficult AI's.

Hmm. Some of these are intentional, for example, most of the Dawn units don't SELF_HEAL and some units with entirely custom coded elite weapons don't have boosted Rate of Fire abilities.

Okay then, I apologize, your way of wording was just similar to that person quite a while ago (at least 4 years ago now), my memory is already starting to fail me.

Desura I haven't been paying much attention to but that's because it's flawed, it requires you to have Tiberian Sun installed in order to install Twisted Insurrection which is unnecessary as the mod runs completely by itself. I understand that it could be a legal thing, but Tiberian Sun is freeware now, so it shouldn't matter. I've been meaning to contact somebody about that, but I have been very busy with so many other things. After our latest release just handling public relations has taken up most of my time.

Regarding the voiceovers, EA are fully aware of Twisted Insurrection and as I am not profiting from the mod it isn't a problem. I would like to point out however that over the course of time we intend to replace voices borrowed from other games.

Thank you for your input!
