My name is Aro, I am a veteran modder of the older Command & Conquer series. I am most known for creating the Tiberian Sun based project known as Twisted Insurrection (TI). I began work on Twisted Insurrection back in November 2007 gradually building up an excellent group of staff along the way. I am devoted to working on my projects and will never cease development until I can finally label them as finished products. Along with TI, I lead another mod known as Evolution for Yuri's Revenge which changes the game to something entirely new. I am also the mind behind the Tiberian Sun: Unofficial Mini Patch which is a base for new mods, removing all known Vanilla Tiberian Sun bugs and issues. Other duties include being a staff member of other C&C mods all around the community, these mods include: Dawn of the Tiberium Age, D-Day, Robot Storm, Re-Wire and Reign of Steel. If old-school C&C modding is your thing, then you stumbled upon the right person!

Indeed! The mods are not in competition with each-other, we are affiliates, team mates and I guess you could also say co-workers. You don't have to vote for a single mod, vote for as many as you like, just like Rampastring said.

There are lots of files for different bits of dialog found throughout the game, but the main ones for the campaigns and briefings are Tutorial.ini and Mission.ini. These files can be found in the INI folder in your TI directory.

Thanks for your input. The Web Spider laser graphics (and the unit itself) are not considered final so they will be upgraded some time in the future.

Regarding GloboTech's future in the mod, please see our FAQ. Ti.ppmsite.com

Note that the FAQ does not state that a GloboTech campaign has been confirmed for the future.

Yes, this is an issue caused by the addition of the new GDI mission. The campaign will run normally as before if you begin it again but will cause corruption of progress on previous saves before the update, which is why I decided to add this feature.

Glad to hear you say that, it's pretty much the only downfall with the addition. It just bugs me a lot more than it probably should, I hate imperfections.

This is not entirely true actually, Snipers do not automatically target Cyborgs, at least not all the time to my knowledge. Because they use different armour types, Snipers only target the one type, which is typically the armour used for Standard Infantry.
Cyborgs are there to be the hard-counter to GDI Snipers. Even The Infector falls victim to a few shots from a Sniper, it would seem only logical that Nod have Infantry capable of countering GDI's Anti-Infantry, which is quite hefty: Snipers, Kazuars, Scatterpacks.

Just for your information too, it is impossible to add extra armour types. If it were possible, we'd have no problem balancing.

Don't you think that a Sniper which is effective against all forms of infantry would be somewhat imbalanced?

Yeah, we have looked at some issues like this in the past and are planning to fix any plot-holes or inconsistencies within the mod before it's final release. Some things however we are willing to overlook as perfect consistency isn't easy to do when you try to make two campaigns coincide.

We have considered OpenRA (or OpenTS) but a port would be a lot more work than you'd think, that isn't to say it's out of the question though, we'll see what happens.

I have to say though, when TI is done, I will most likely begin a new project for the OpenRA engine. :)

This was introduced in Red Alert 2 and thus it was never a feature in Tiberian Sun, it is not something we can add ourselves just like that I'm afraid, hence why Mental Omega has it and Twisted Insurrection doesn't, two similar but completely different engines.

If you're having troubles with the Twisted Insurrection client, please post a topic over on our forums here: Ppmsite.com

Rampastring (The client developer) is the best person to help you out with all questions in regards to it as this particular issue could be many things, but flick through our FAQ and Known issues topics just in-case it is something there. Ppmsite.com

Once we feel we have patched and updated Public Beta 5 to the point where all bugs that have been reported and all public feedback has been put into place, we will begin work on a new staff build which will ultimately become Twisted Insurrection 1.0.

The current public release will still continue to get updates even during the development of the next staff build assuming more bugs or critical issues are found. And maybe we'll update it with some new graphics that we produce too, we'll see, but for now Public Beta 5 will be getting lots of changes and additions 'cause you're all great at giving us feedback. :)

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen. I'm just posting to inform you all that the download links for Twisted Insurrection Public Beta 5 have been updated to include the latest updates (the current update as of this post is PB5.035), which I am doing for those of you that seem to be having unusual issues with updating to the latest build via the TI Client.
Since the official release there have been loads of changes and bug fixes applied to the mod all of which are included with this download update, some bug fixes are rather significant ones so I don't want any of you that can't seem to update to miss out on the latest updates.

If you have been able to update your build of Twisted Insurrection successfully, then this is nothing that you should be concerned about as your builds should already be up-to-date. For a view at the full Public Beta 5 changelog and all updates up-to-date, then check out this direct link to the log. Ti.ppmsite.com

I have taken notice of your problem and I have updated the ModDB and PPM downloads to contain the latest version (PB5.035 as of this post). Redownload the mod and it'll be up-to-date. :)

I will not be doing this for every single update though, only for major fixes and a plentiful changelog. For example the next time I upload may be something like PB5.050 or similar, it depends on what changes are made exactly and how big or small the Client updates are.
