Very impressive work! some work with textures and models would make it great, you know, it's symmetric and have no failures in the structure; add some cracks and damages in the structure, it would give a more realistic and professional touch. But don't get me wrong, your work is amazing and I don't know the engine limitations, just trying to give some constructive critic here ;)

Yeah, I agree. Most of what I'm doing is all textures and cube based. In fact, there are no mapmodels in this map at all atm. Mostly because I can build everything myself with a little ingenuity with cubes (beds, tables, chairs, couches, lamps, etc), but once I finish up the entire map, there most likely will be more mapmodels. Also, it's hard to tell from here, but the textures are slightly weathered, so it looks a bit older the closer you are ;D

The thing is, mapmodels slow down the game if you have too many, so I try to avoid them. :\

Description

I don't know how many of you know this, but I love to build. I've enjoyed Lego's for many many years although I haven't built with them in a long time. However, about the time I switched from Lego's to 3D building, I found a great, free program called Platinum Arts Sandbox 3D Game Maker (http://www.sandboxgamemaker.com/) which is based off of the Cube 2 Engine.

I've had it for about two and a half to three years and therefore kinda got good at how mapping works. If you've ever seen Cube 2 or worked with it, you know that everything works off of cubes (hence the name). It's a pretty neat engine, but I've mainly stuck with it's off-shoot Platinum Arts Sandbox.

This map I've been building for about seven months now, and what you see in these screenshots are only a fraction of what I've built. I'm really pleased with the way it's turning out (both the cathedral and the rest of the map) and I'm super happy with the direction it's taking.

If you guys want to know more about the engine or the map or anything else, let me know!
