Unless you go with permadeath, which would be annoying considering that's not what I play Fallout 3 for but I guess it would be easier to program.......
I guess it won't matter since there's bound to be a few people who've modded the game either way for both permadeath and non-permadeath servers. I'd love to see a mediumcore death penalty server, where you lose everything but your equipped items on death. That's my ideal system. Then I at least still feel like my character is progressing with his gear but death is still meaningful.
I wonder how inventory saving on death will work without saved games. Maybe your body just disappears or becomes an unlootable corpse? Probably should just disappear.
Meaningful death: I like the idea but I'm not a fan of complete permadeath. Will you give players the option to select what their death penalty will be (basically a difficulty selector)? I prefer losing everything but equipped items on death, or everything but your primary and secondary weapons. I only know of one game that has this, The Dead Linger, but I'm wondering if you guys were thinking of including these options as well?

I think it would be a good idea for you to be able to repair your weapon quickly and cheaply at the cost of stats and such, but also have to option to find or make custom parts for it to repair it with no stat loss. Also, you should be able to take a damaged weapon and use the same method to repair it with nice parts. It doesn't have to be too complex, it doesn't have to be "oh the firing pin and trigger assembly need work". Just "Gun Part (number) (health bar here)" and then each weapon would be made of different parts. Like, maybe the FN-57 is made of gun parts 3, 7, 12, 18, and 24 and each one gets damaged and a random part gets damaged a tiny bit when the gun is fired x amount of times.
Will there be any non-permadeath modes or servers for those like me that prefer a more traditional death penalty (or something like losing all your ammunition on death, but not your equipped items) in an MMORPG?
Will there be a non-permadeath survival mode? I'm asking because I'm only sometimes in the mood for permadeath, so if I were to purchase the game I would like the option to have or not have it present.
Your game would be incredibly unique that way, I only know of one other zombie survival game that has the options for the death penalty instead of non-optional permadeath.
So, is the mod abandoned or still being worked on?
Will the stat loss at least stop at some point? I like the feeling of having a trusty gun that I can rely on for the whole game if I really want to, even if some of it's stats have dropped. It wouldn't really make any sense that it eventually just does nothing to enemies, of course.
And if that doesn't work for gameplay balance reasons, you can make it so each gun has unique parts that have to be crafted or scavenged to repair each firearms. More realistic and more fun than every gun eventually degrading into dust in your hands somehow.
One more question, will the game have all weapons eventually degrade into dust or can you repair them? I prefer to be able to repair, seeing as real firearms can last many lifetimes if properly maintained. Which means in the context of a game, they should last forever if repaired regularly. And if not repaired, they should simply be in a state of non-function until repaired. Just sharing my thoughts on the matter.
Well, I'd prefer you have both permadeath and non-permadeath modes, that way everyone can enjoy it.
Would you be interested in me joining your team as a modeler? I like to model firearms and other weapons. I Might still have a few pictures of one of the firearms I've modeled in the past, if you're interested. And yes, I know it would not be a paid job if you say yes.
Neat idea, better than the usual non-optional permadeath I see in literally every single game like this.

I think I already know the answer to this, but will the weapons be team-locked? As in only the Chinese can use the AK, the US can only use the M4 and M16, etc.? I'd rather that's not the case, so I just wanted to ask.
So, does anyone know what kind of role-playing elements this game has? The more the better.

I enjoy non-permadeath more but I still enjoy the permadeath feature from time to time but if I were to buy the game there would need to be a mode without it (or with limited death penalty). I'm probably looking in the wrong place, but would this game have anything like that?

Does it have the same "all items lost on death" feature as FOnline? I really don't like that feature, so I have to ask before I decide to play the game.
Before I decide if I want to try the game, I'd like to know if it has any non-permadeath modes. Like where you only lose some ammunition and not your main gear on death. I usually prefer a more casual death penalty but am occasionally in the mood for the hardcore stuff, so I'd only really be interested in the game if both are present, or at the more casual mode anyways. Is this the case?
I want to know one thing before I decide to follow this game, will the game have CoD/Battlefield style weapon customization or will it be like Counter Strike's "buy a gun and start over next round" kind of thing? I prefer to have the weapon customization option in a first person shooter, please let me know what the case is here.
