Gearbox ported this game from PC and upgraded the graphics for Dreamcast. They are credited in the description.

Here is a cover of the Dreamcast version of Half-Life. The game was never released commercially, but was leaked to the net by people from Gearbox software, as they worked very hard on this game, and it was pulled just 2 weeks before being released.

Sorry guys, I am the old public relations guy from this mod. It is sadly dead now, and I can't get a hold of the files as they were just removed from the ftp.

That is NOT to say that the excellent models will not go to use in another AAA+ mod.

I will update this page when I have more news to tell you, but until then, if any have questions, you can PC me.

It is sad to see a mod that had so much potential die, and believe me, I was its biggest follower. My grandfather was in the Korean war for the full 3 years of the conflict.

This was my way of connecting with him...

Thanks for all the fans over the years. We made the mod have a great community that will never be forgotten.

Sega Dreamcast, the best most underrated system ever overshadowed by the PS2 when nobody gave it a chance.

Anyway, look for Paranoia and They Hunger Half-Life mods, they are on Dreamcast too, because it is such an awesome opened system that needs no modding to play homebrews or backups, and they cost about $30 on ebay for a good used one.

Dreamcast is the only console ever to play Half-Life mods, and that is pretty impressive in and of itself.

Quake mods are also very plentiful on Dreamcast, so this is not surprising this is listed as Dreamcast.

Come to Dcisozone, we are keeping the Dreamcast alive in the homebrew scene and have many PC mods of Half-Life on the Dreamcast just look at these great ports here!

The Dreamcast also has a Sandisk adapter for loading games from the Dreamshell Operating system. I have a 32gb SDHC card on mine! That is bigger than the original 360 harddrive!

Come one come all, please help support the Dreamcast homebrew scene, its still thinking!

What you guys are doing with this mod is impressive! Major kudos to you, and the utmost respect!

Do you guys know of any good graphical mods for xrCore build 1935?

I have been on S.T.A.L.K.E.R Files, and I never heard mention of this release.

Only the most underrated gaming system every made! ;) Have you never heard of a Sega Dreamcast? Seriously, it is like a precursor to the original Xbox, and even says "Powered by Microsoft Windows CE" on the front of the system. Anyway, Dreamcast can do something no other console can, and that is play Half-Life mods!

Anyway, you want to see more awesome HLDC mods, go to this site, we even have Counter-Strike for Dreamcast!

Ha yeah, I am American, and I can speak German and Spanish, and that means I can also understand 50% of all words of Germanic and latin languages, so that means I can read from many different news sites, which is a good thing for any person to know.

If you know one of each of the 2 main European mother languages, Germanic and Latin, you can pretty much use your head and learn the sister languages fairly easy.

I have self learned German for 5 years, and I still struggle with it as it is one of the harder languages to learn grammaticaly, but it is what English comes from, so our words have simmilar sounds, even if the spelling is slightly different.

English
Beaver , fever, cool, mother, father , sister , friend.
German
Biber, fieber, k├╝hlt, mutter, vater, schwester, freund.

The list can go on for ever really. Anyway, Spanish and Portugese are really close too, and if you know Spanish, you should be able to read a lot of Portuguese stuff.

Anyway, sorry for the language lesson, just trying to tell people learning a language is not as hard as you would think, but I guess it is easier for English speakers to learn both families, becuase we use so many latin words in our Germanic language hehe.

Would be kool if this was ported to the Dreamcast version, as we all know the PS2 version had this included, and the Dreamcast version had Blueshift, so with this included on Dreamcast, it would be the most complete console version, if only there were 2 player capability on DC.

Oh well, they are trying to get PC dll's loaded on a Dreamcast, but for some reason even with no errors from the SDK we can't figure out how to get all PC mods portable to DC.

It is not possible to put mods like this on PS2. The Dreamcast can because it is an open system like a PC is, and lots of modding tools and SDK's exsist for Dreamcast and PC to meet the data from both systems and get a working port on DC.

Lots of tweaking is also involved, so it is not just a simple copy and paste of mod files and make PC mods work on a Dreamcast. These guys have done the impossible here, and it is unlikely that any other console will get Half-Life PC mods ported to it. The Original Xbox don't even have Half-Life 1, so the Dreamcast 1-ups the Xbox right there too.

Lol I saw you had problems burning Half-Life to Dreamcast and just saw your message on my profile. Sorry you had to wait 10 days to get it to work.

Just so you know, the Half-Life base code is left on the cdi file and is edited with the mods content so it playes like it is a standalone full game on a Dreamcast. :)

I hardly check my profile, so sorry I didn't see you needed help earlier.

Well, you can play 3D homebrew games like Neverball and games that were ported over like Doom 1 and 2, Heretic, Hexen, Rise of the Triad, and so many games. Also, if you want to play 3000+ NES games on 1 cd, without paying millions of dollars for every individual game, then NesterDC SE is for you!

Remember, this is still a last gen console, and the graphics of Shenmue and Quake 3 Arena, and Unreal Tournament, Half-Life and Test Drive Le Mans attest to it, this system has ******* great graphics! You can still play many games online like Quake, Phantasy Star Online and many others, and these are all cross-platform with their PC versions! How many consoles you know of that can do that still? Also, you can use a Dreamcast Mouse and Keyboard with most FPS games and MMO's like Phantasy Star Online!

Best thing is, it needs no modding, and can play games from simple CDR's! Get one on Ebay, it can play games from expencive systems like Neo Geo and they work perfect and full speed! Plus, it also plays PS1 games with better graphics and at higher resolutions than even a PS2 or PS3 emulates them! Emulation is awesome!
