Multiplayer is fun as hell, the only problem with it is finding a server. Two clicks of a button and you can host your own, though it may not be as good as a dedicated one.
sad news, but at least we have something to look forward to next summer!

I'm a huge Thief fan so I must say thanks to all the modders that continue to update the mod and/or release FM's. With your help you've not only kept the classic hardcore stealth experience alive but brought it into the next generation.

I'd say the puzzles in AoM were more confusing if not more so than CoF's, though I'd have to agree the instakill enemies were pretty annoying.
I suppose it all just comes down to different personal tastes, and like all opinions no one's is more valid than another's. We have two great Half-Life horror mods to choose from in any case.
I'd have to respectfully disagree. The extreme amount of darkness plus the tiny and limited flashlight made it a bit scarier, but only at first. It didn't take long for stumbling around in the pitch black to be annoying as hell more so than scary. Not to mention the confusing level design meant it took me forever to make it out of the first hospital level without having to resort to a guide.
Also, the CoF team worked hard creating more realistic architecture and meshes than AoM, which draws me in more, making the scares hit harder... quite a feat especially when some areas (like the subway) have plenty of light. To have a lot of scenes lit makes the really dark ones even scarier, and stop the mod from becoming monotonous and straining on the eyes.
You do have a good point when talking about the pure isolation in AoM, however. To me though, Sophie and the Doctor don't make enough appearances for me to think that I'm NOT entirely alone.
