I'm an Unreal Technology Consultant currently located in Newcastle, UK. I studied Computer Games Programming at the University of Derby and Computer Games Development at the University of Central Lancashire. I have an avid interest in game design from a technical perspective and visual effects. In my spare time I enjoy my local live music scene, and a good pint of ale (or six). I currently work for Pitbull on Epic Games' projects, recently worked at Lionhead Studios, shipping Fable: The Journey and co-authored the third volume of the UE3 Mastering Unreal Technologies books.

Hi AmberZ,
im Rishi, and studying in Parsons School fr Design in NYC. am doing my major in game design, but the course is all about casual games. For my thesis, i am making a game based on Unreal Engine.
Am good at programming and 3d modeling, i have little experience in coding games on actionscript 3. i also hav some experience in coding multiplayer games. BUT, am new to Unreal. so i have a lot of questions.

is it ok if i ask u random questions sometime? i can also enroll you in a mentor program, which will get you some stipend from my school. and all you have to do is answer my random silly questions about unreal engine and unreal script..

my email ID is
rishi.havoc@gmail.com

i will really appreciate if you reply to this email!
thanks
riShi

Hey Ambershee, how are you?

MrBCut here. Dude, I just wanted to say I appreciate your great tutorials and experience you demonstrate with the UE2 and UE3 engines. You have some of the earliest tutorials to date on ModDB and I am very grateful and actually working on them now. Isn't it great how convienent UE2 is very similar to UE3? This mutator shouldn't take too long at all.

Hey I was hoping I could add you to my friends list and maybe at some time in the near future you could be a source of feedback for me and my team if we ever needed it? We would be most appreciative as this is our first time doing something like this and it means so much to us, especially me.

So if you get some spare time, please feel free to check out my profile.

Thanks Ambershee,

MrBCut

I'm pretty sure you private messaged it to me, but I lost all my old PM's when we updated to this new theme. Didn't INtense say that we'd still be able to access the v3 theme?

Maybe I should check out that GameMaker thing. It'd probably help to learn BASIC or something first, to get a good handle on coding.

No idea if v3 is still accessible anymore.

You can probably get right down into GameMaker without much practice in another language, and build up in complexity with practice. At the basic level, it's pretty simple.

This may very well be the 5th time I've asked you this, but the occasion has arisen where I must pester you about it again;

Do you still have that Gmax mech modelling tutorial that you worked with a year or two ago?

And what's the deal with gamemaker, anyway?

Well, a lot of things are different than they are on paper. I guess the memo the journalists got wasn't specific enough, because I honestly don't believe Konami would purposefully stop people from giving their honest reviews (they didn't stop them on the last 3 games).

I personally think that EGM overreacted. Even if MGS4 got mediocre reviews (unlikely, but still), Konami knows it's going to sell like cakes that are hot. That's really the fact of the matter.

Karuto Jun 8 2008, 10:47am says:

The reason Konami put out the criteria on the MGS4 reviews was because they didn't want things to be spoiled for the user, especially concerning the length and content of said cutscenes. They didn't expect journalism groups to take it so literally, so they made the changes recently to accept that.

On Wikipedia:

Kojima Productions spokesperson Ryan Payton has since explained more specifically what the NDA restricts, and has ammended "some items [that] are outdated and require more explanation." He also listed the length of install times, noting that the restrictions were intended to prevent spoilers regarding what occurs during the installations.

Kotaku.com

Just clearing that up because it looks like you didn't notice the update to the situation.
