I do modding, I do gaming, I do PC building, I work in retail, wahoo.
Not that I want to complain about good quality new ships...but...any other Jem'Hadar ships in the works for the Dominion side? >_>
That looks like a bunch of Gorn vessels fighting it? Gorn ships being added to the Klingon side or just planetary militia who got majorly unlucky?
Okay, now that's a spaceship. No flying saucer with thin little supports and nacelles, it's got mass and looks like it should fly in space. I love it. If I wasn't all for the Dominion(which has better looking ships overall), I'd totally use it sometime...
It's too bad Star Trek Online isn't taking notes from the ships you're creating, I'd love a dedicated carrier ship in that...
Would say the only complaint is...awful lot of lights for it being a frozen blizzard-ball. Can't imagine loads of people would want to live there.
I would still be kinda sour, personally, but I guess that's the risk you take working under an umbrella contract for someone else's IP.
The mod looks more beautiful than ever Zero, great work. Aside from the distant dust dots you can barely see in the background, it's hard to tell it's still Homeworld 2.
I will save a metaphorical hard-on for any picture with the Jem'Hadar Dread. =P
Would agree, the engine doesn't seem to quite fit with the sleek theme mots of the other Dominion ships have shown off before now. Otherwise, it's great to see the Dominion get more love.
Nuke it from far away, it's the only way to be sure.
I kinda second that, I can only imagine what you guys would be able to do if you had to make a ship bigger and badder than the JDHC.
It does look good, but again, it's fairly dark, now, I'm not a Star Trek fan by any stretch, but I do love the mod, so I'm not entirely sure what best depicts Borg ships. It may be that a dark looming shape is the intended effect, and the best representation. Suppose darker is better than too bright.
I have a feeling the one on the right may be harder to see, depending on how bright and how much non-black backgrounds tend to have.
Remember you help their mod out the most by filing HELPFUL feedback on issues. Keyword is helpful, you want them to feel like fixing it, not feel like leaping over a guard-rail into oncoming traffic.
If you fall for this stuff anymore and didn't bother to check the date...I pity you, sir. Also, I hate April.
Wouldn't think you'd need it to run every second, maybe once every twenty seconds, and not in-combat. Optimization is something Homeworld 2 almost demands, so the most you can get out of it is the best route.
Hopefully the remakes will take care of that, and let the game use your PC to its fullest finally.
Very awesome, eager to play as the Dominion, always liked the looks of their ships the most.
I am not personally a Star Trek fan(but played and enjoyed Star Trek Online, go figure), and this mod is AWESOME!
The detail put into the models, the small touches in effects, the sound FX, how combat flows, I love it. I think I will love it even more when the Dominion shows up!
This is a very well-done Sins mod, up there with the best of them, keep up the great work, guys!
heh, I still play that occasionally. Though...content is way too easy most of the time, and PVP is way too...well, depends on the cheapest builds to win, so it's hard to stick with the game. They really needed to abandon the "more numbers, more shinies" thing and put more emphasis on individual skill, positioning, and such.
Bummer, because the space combat is great, the ground combat is OK, could be better, but there's so much they could do with exploration and/or ship customization.
It's a good start, echoing the "too flat" statements, the areas of space, they need more to them, dust, faint particles, signs of obvious lighting, things to compliment the models themselves, otherwise they look too stark and stand out more than they should.
You have my vote, and everyone else who remotely loved Mass Effect should vote for these guys too, best of luck!
When in doubt, assume "it'll be done when it's done".
Unfortunate that Disney's canon may write out "Thrawn's Revenge" from Star Wars. Still curious to see how it pans out.
The ships are unique-looking though, and the time period seems almost more interesting than the old trilogy's setting, way bigger scale, and threat of "bad things" coming from beyond the rim.
If you must vote for something, vote for the fact we are still alive after all this time!
...and yes I am still alive too, but due to personal reasons, can't really directly participate. I can sure as heck vote though, and so can you!
Long wait on reply. I will have to see about posting something on my profile to explain my situation, and why I haven't been around much this past year. It's clear no matter how much I wanted to quietly sit in the background and support things, I can't do that without being involved in drama, so I may as well just be more overt. Long story short though: My father passed away, my family hit financial troubles, I am working 40 hours a week overnights to help support them, I haven't much time to use on the mod anymore, sadly. We'll have to see whether there's still room for me to contribute or not.
Yeah, sadly the new DLC broke the mod, most specifically, the portion that defines what stellar bodies are used in the game, since new stellar bodies were added with the DLC.
Nice shape, very impressive. Keeps with the Cerberus aesthetic quite well.
Ah, hooray, we finally have the missing puzzle in the UNSC fighter roster.
I'm number 0. >_> Don't like Facebook, Myspace or other social media, I'll just follow you on here, you show enough neat stuff here, anyway.
And if only they would just pack nuclear warheads into MAC rounds, the Covenant would be way less of a threat.
Interested in playing the mod, but it has issues launching...upon launching it seems to crash on load and say it's missing "horde_min" in a factions.txt file.
I have the Gold version from Steam of RTW.
