There has been a mass exploit being used against all sites registered through godaddy.com via insufficient php5 security (look up base64 mrno/mrobh exploit). We have been hard hit but have more or less stabilized in the last week or so. If you ever have problems accessing the main site, clear your cache and reload, if it persists send an email/pm to myself or one of the other moderators (Jetfire/Skyway, etc). This does not affect our dev repository or IRC where I am always available to field questions or respond to hacking attempts.
Seems like its time for some news postin'....
There will be an announcement regarding our future plans sometime next year. We have to conduct a thorough post-mortem once the vacation doldrums wear off.
We do not allow any use of AFF related IP (audio, images, models, etc) in non-sponsored AFF projects. Whether we ever release freeware title (UDK or otherwise), that is not carte blanche for anyone to waltz in and strip-mine our work for their own use.
We will protect our IP vigorously, rest assured.
Waiting only 15 minutes for help before trashing a release is a wonderful way to resolve your issues. If you are having serious issues with the installer please post the specifics on our forums in the Medivac section.
That is precisely one of the things we don't allow, but I do understand why some folks would welcome it. Thanks for your interest though. :)
We don't generally allow our work to be pared out beyond AFF related projects and experiences.
You and Sarcen had it coming!
I believe the current release is outside the filesize limits for PS3 packages, and the next release will likely be a bit larger. We understand there is a great interest in the PS3 UT3 community for more mods to make the jump but be patient as we iron out issues with the PC release. I can say that once we are off our MSUC schedule we can spend time looking over possible ports beyond the PC version.
We know, they're in our hearts. However we're primarily focused on getting the basics solid for the next release. Fear not, you will one day be able to go all stompy-stompy on the enemy.
6 years and counting...
And we've been around a lot longer.
Quit taunting them, man!
You made a boo-boo, don't worry though, all is forgiven!
Imperials need to do some things on the cheap (one of their rifles actually has a wood stock, for Christ's sake).
I think there is a size limit on cooked mods for PS3, which makes TCs like ours unlikely to be made available on PS3 for the moment.
Heres a tidbit; Youtube.com
What he said.
Alas, the limitations of UE3 make that impossible. So instead we hope to make the levels as chock full of stuff to interact with as possible.
There shall be, we're just organizing things on our end. Rest assured.
You *must* have updated your copy of HW2 to version 1.1 in order to play this mod. If you have and it still doesn't work, register on our forums and post a copy of your hw2.log file (in the homeworld2/bin/release directory). Hopefully we can help you.
Here are the release notes and some isntallation/troubleshooting instructions. If you have more problems, sign up on our forums and we'll try to help;
glad you like :D
We've made a fair dent, but theres lots to go. We appreciate all the folks interested in our lil project, thanks for the vote of confidence!
Hey, I could talk all l337 for you guys, but then you'd quit.....
Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. We'll try to keep up the pace. :)
Get it fool. :p
Would just like to send congrats to Strangelet, who has joined the team as a modeler/texturer. Lookf for his first work to be posted here soon!
