Does it look as repetative now? To me it does a bit but this is a still image and you have to put some time into staring at the ground to see it, SO ITS FINE

Also HIGH REZ oops

The first patch fixed all the lag issues I was getting. The mod was pretty damn scary. It just needed some work on the character models and animations, and it would be golden!

Haha the first big model I did was one of these. I remember learning how to model through a tutorial book and it was specifically on building something like this. In the long run though, most of what I was taught there would be considered bad practices that really slow down your workflow.

Damn you overcomplicated tutorials!

Definitly need to add some shader work and image based lighting to this ;D

Model is pretty solid, but I can't help but feel the proportions are a bit off. It feels... stubby...

I would also say to lay down the smoothing a lot less, and instead work on the normals to get the effect you want, while only beveling the edges that need it to get that smooth effect without so much geometry. Personally I see cars as hard surface models, and leave the smooth edges to the normals to give it a really tough look.

Keep it up!

Looks good!

I like how clean the model work is on this. Feels like something I've seen on store shelves before. Maybe you should design their new line of models! I swear they got worse with each new set back when I used to buy those things lol

Leather Texture tests. Mostly just shaders with LOTS of tweaking. Needs to look good close and far.

Can see the problem with the texture falloff well here towards the back. Besides halving the texture, higher resolution renders should also fix some of it.

Probably go for a darker cherrywood esque colour for the wood. Might do the walls before I make it, or it will look severely out of place...

(Without reading other reviews just some thoughts)

To be honest it felt like an alpha of what could become a full game, but that said, it is REALLY coming along. It didn't just feel like a mod alpha, as many UE early releases do.

I felt that more love went into the orbiting satallite, that Ion Blast, and the nuke cutscenes, then anything else, and it did play mostly like the UE multiplayer mod did, with the added diving (Definitely needed some work, but it did light up my day using it over and over for no good readon), and some tweaks here and there.

The AI needs a lot of work too but that should be obvious.

My biggest problem with it was the stamina bar refilling taking upwards of 10 seconds, but emptying taking less then 3. Sprinting barely added speed to begin with, so sometimes long trecks felt like a chore. The other major problem I had was weapon damage. The vehicle weapons, and the mounted weapons, did complete crap compared to the handheld weapons. By far the easiest weapon to use was the chaingun, it tore apart whole groups in seconds, but then the APCs machine gun took 5 seconds of shooting 1 guy to drop him.

Anyways it was a good first release, with solid graphics, decent animation, great effects, and laughable dialogue (Though that felt like the point), so I'd say you did a great job on this! Can't wait for multiplayer standalone!

The sparkly-ness animates per frame. Haven't got to test it properly yet to see if they are too big when animating.

At first they were textures, now they are mostly just bumpmaps with light shadow in the texture to make them more visible.
