Very nice UI... I like all of the information, but would avoid, as a habit, recommending how to use a unit - this seems to me like it should be up to the user to figure it out on his own -- or not. And yes, I know the description is a placeholder...

Well, the idea is that the description says what a unit would be better for and/or not so good for. I have not programmed the game to crash when you don't follow my instructions :)

I'm not saying that you are forcing anyone to do anything, I just think that in general it is bad practice to give advice in the first place... Perhaps you could make your description describe the unit, and leave it at that. Just my personal opinion though.

Well, I have to put something there. Otherwise, I might have to design a collage for each unit, and I don't think anybody would want to look at my artwork (and that is a fact...).

You're telling me... I am just saying that maybe you could put that it has high damage and low rate of fire and just leave it at that. That way you would be providing information without telling people how they SHOULD be using it... Which is essentially what the screenshot is doing, in a nice way.

Well, to each his own....but there aren't too many more options for fluff...

Well, you don't need fluff... However long it needs to be is as long as it has to be. However, if you insist upon fluff, why not put in information about its capability to attack units on different layers (in this case, water and air units, since it can obviously attack land...)

If it's practical, that could be put in. But, as you said yourself ("... can obviously..."), this would not be particularly good fluff to put in. But then again, that sort of contradicts the definition of "fluff"....bah humbug.

I would argue that putting in the facts, such as whether it can attack other layers, will be more helpful to the player than telling them how they can use it. If you must, you could make sections, and each section header could have a recommendation on how to use that particular section. Units within the section could be secondarily organized by faction and then subdivided by tier. So, for instance, the shocker would go in the T3 sub-subsection of the UEF subsection of the Bomber category. Since the recommended use of the Shocker up there seems to me that it would apply to all bombers, you can put your recommendation there, if you must.

Hmm, love the idea of having a wiki. However I don't see the harm in stating what it's good at considering the amount of stratergy in this game is the equivilent to running head first with a army into a enemy base with as many high powered units has the unit cap will allow. Not to mention stating what it's good at will avoid people from using a unit to do something that it isn't good at, especially for the latest units added into unit port give an insight to how they would be used. I for one has trouble finding out how the aeon airship worked, because I though that it had frontal air to land lasers and wasted alot of time with that unit trying to use it in ineffective way.

If you're talking about the Galaxy, it says "AA Gunship..." I think it might be fair to assume that AA is a pretty good use for it. But this way I doubt you'll ever forget what it does. Anyway, my point is that the only strategy that has to be involved in this game is making, using, and distributing your units wisely. On smaller maps you don't even have to distribute them wisely, and the increased unit cap and resource generators mean that you don't really have to build them wisely either. I think that for the sake of being challenged a bit, people shouldn't be told how to use something too... because then there is no novelty to the game.

Thats the thing. It isn't telling you how to use it's only saying what it's good at, neither do you have to obide by this. Almost all the people who use this mod already know what the units do and what they are good at, with the exception of new units. If you don't like it oh well, I for one would enjoy being able to read about the units to give a little more insight, but if you don't simpily don't use it. Simple as.

Does the wiki check the current stats of the unit to display from the .bp or is it a pre-written thing? Just curious

It just checks the bps. If it were to check current unit stats, it would have to take info from a selected unit, and if it were to work like that, then that would mean you could only look up units that you had built that game. And I wrote it myself, if that's what you mean by "pre-written" :) (As opposed to the resource sharing dialogue, which was already half-written by the developers of supcom1)

Oh, yes, and the description is just a placeholder. Just FYI.
