The Black hand was the organization responsible for killing Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which started the first World War. In NO WAY is it ripped off of Lord of the Rings.

AND they had the little "incident" in Cyrodill where one man (or lizard, in my case) killed the entire portion of the brotherhood around there. Sure enough, a new one was formed and in the end you become Da Big Boss of the Brotherhood, but that's another story, lol.

BTW, I hope we'll be able to have more DB quests in Skyrim. It's looking great, but the Dark Brotherhood quests seem to be the only way to get black robes and hoods with magical statistics 8p.
There was no way to listener before, therefore they stood in no ones way.
P.S. I saw a screenie in Skyrim of a note saying
"We know" with a black hand,I might make it my new avatar.
I hope so too, maybe have some sort of NPC list of hits that refreshes every now and then.
