You've reached the profile of AK151. How you wandered upon this profile, I do not know, and I sincerely apologize for your misfortune. Should you decide to stay and have a look around, you'll find writing (some decent, but most pretty bad), (mostly) failed experiments, and perhaps some music. You may also happen across some fo-Star Wars stuff, much of which I keep around as a lesson to myself in how to avoid being embarrassingly over-the-top and ridiculous. It exists primarily for the currently ongoing Star Wars role-playing group (yes, there is a somewhat-thriving Star Wars RP here, believe it or not). Anyways, enjoy your stay, have a nice day, and, as always, have fun!

I'm replaying Enderal, a total conversion for Skyrim. I found it well-made, with a gripping story, great characters, and excellent music. I got a whole bunch of mods for my next playthrough, and one adds in a journal one can write in to record thoughts, events, etc. I'll be keeping this journal up as I play, and I figured it would be fun to share it here.

Last Seed, 27th, 4E 8234

Well, this morning's been... interesting. Got an early start and did a bit more browsing at the markets before heading to the bank. I did a favor for a bartender and he gave me a share of the profits of his place, so I figured I might as well start collecting on that. Opened up a vault and left some money there. If I understand things correctly, that sum should grow over time. Seems like a useful investment.

Anyways, Jespar finished up whatever errands he was up to and found me at the market. We chatted for a bit about the city before he told me to change into these ridiculous clothes (they were pretty comfortable). No explanation. That was a bit perturbing, but I decided to go with it. We walked up to the Sun Temple. The place is off-limits to most citizens of Ark. There're a whole bunch of well-equipped guards there. I reckon they'd give me a run for my money were I to go toe-to-toe with them. But that wasn't necessary. Jespar somehow managed to spin some story to get us through (ties in with the ridiculous clothes he gave me; trying to pass me off as a Kilean merchant).

Once we were in, he explained things a bit more clearly: his employer is one of the Nehrimese arcanists that used to oppose the Holy Order. The ones I mentioned earlier. The one who hired Jespar, a man named Constantine Firespark, is from the looks of things at the top of the totem pole. At least, that's the aura he gave off when I met him. He's a bit of a prick, but in a likeable way. He does know what he's doing. When Jespar explained my situation and convinced him to take a look at me, he said that with the magical power I've got it's a wonder I haven't turned into an Oorbaya. So that's fun. He told me that there are two ways to get it under control: the first is spending a year meditating with the Holy Order. I read about that a little while ago and ruled it out. The second was some shortcut ritual. He doesn't know how to do it, but there's another Nehrimese who does: someone named "Lashiri", who's apparently in a Pyrean ruin. Looks like that's my next stop.

There's also something else worth noting: Firespark dismissed the vision I had before I woke up on the shore of Enderal, until Jespar brought something up, a phrase I remember hearing from the Veiled Woman I wrote about earlier: "It all begins with the dreams". Apparently Firespark is familiar with the phrase. I'm going to have to look into that later.

On another note entirely, the Sun Temple is pretty impressive. A lot of novices and Keepers milling about. But there's also an air of distrust in this place. I feel like a lamb in the midst of wolves whenever I pass one of the Keepers. I guess it's something I'm going to have to get used to.

Decided to get a drink with Jespar before setting off. We spent a good hour or two talking, trading stories about what we've been up to in Enderal, and what we're planning next. Somehow we eventually got into the topic of motivation. He thinks that everyone's basically selfish and at heart pursues those things that make them happy; that's the end goal for everyone, even the heroes. Something like that. It's pretty cynical, but I'll admit he made some good points. I don't entirely agree with him, but in some areas he's not wrong. Despite our differences in opinion, however, I owe him for helping me out. He's leaving before dawn tomorrow. There's a ship bound for Kile. I think I'm going to stay the night in Ark to see him off. I'll take the Myrad to find Lashiri first thing tomorrow after he leaves. Until then, I've got an evening to kill.

With nothing on the agenda, I paid a visit to the museum in the South Quarter and found something interesting. One of the exhibits had a deformed hand. I asked the curator about it and he said that it's supposed to belong to some nobleman; he cut it off after a witch turned it into a grotesque claw. At least, that's the "official" story. But the real story is the one of the Ashen Widow. One of the legends I read my first few days on Enderal. A mythical spirit of vengeance. The claw belonged to her bastard husband, and it’s supposed to be necessary to summon her. I have a strong hunch she's at Castle Goldenford, a fortress close to Riverville I explored; I felt a strange presence there. Made a deal with the curator to lend me the claw for a few days. I'm going to take it to the castle at some point, see if I can't summon the Ashen Widow and put her to rest. She deserves that much, at least.

Rented out a room in the Noble's Quarter for the night. I kind of prefer the atmosphere here to the one in the Foreign Quarter. Plus the bard here isn't too good with the lute. Offered to play while he sings for the evening. Got some good coin that way. Also got some flattering complements from some of the men, and even a few of the women. Not really looking for anything at the moment, though. Maybe later down the road at some point.

Link to Enderal. It's important to note that the writing above is based almost entirely on the story created by an extraordinarily talented group of modders. Credit is due to them, not to me. I would also be remiss to not credit Arcones for the idea of using a parchment-looking background to add some flavor.
