Blarg! My eyes hurt..... (proceeds to cry)
Ok, I'm better. (cries again)
Seriously though, mapping is straining on the eyes.
You either sit there for 3 minutes and do nothing, or you plonk yourself down for an hour or 2 and map.
Or is it just me?
I have been working today on my Arnane map, which when released will be the first level you play; introducing the main characters and (hopefully) getting you wanting more.
I am getting increasingly annoyed at gtkradiant. It always wants to disagree with me when I place a model into a map. I can be happily adding control consoles one minute, then I add one tree and it corrupts my entire map, making me back track to the .bak file and start again.
This has happened too many times for me, and I've had to start again on multiple levels twice.
The imperial sea base map just wants to leak, no matter how many boxes I place around the entire map, and as for the arnane level.... I HATE TREES NOW!!!!!
Scripting.... Please, someone stop me now!
I have to say that this is something I hate worse than mapping. For a start, all of my scripting is being done on an old apple ibook, as I only have macs and there's no scripting software for icarus on a mac other than Redsaurus' helpful, but difficult to use "ibize for mac". The old ibook has mac os 9 and can run virtual pc, which is slower than a, well.... I don't know, a crippled snail?
Anyway...
If I make any errors, I have to reboot virtual pc, fix the script, then reboot into mac osx, transfer the script to the imac, test it, and if I'm lucky it works.
Gargh!!! If any programers are out there, could they make a GUI for red's ibize for mac?
Alright, enough whining for me.
Back to work.
