I am looking into how to mod sins of a solar rebellion too.

Stronghold Crusader Mod ?

I have been playing Stronghold Crusader recently and i have been enjoying the game. One of my favourite parts to the game is some of the in game AI character speech. So I decided that I would work on a mod for Stronghold Crusader. What this mod will end up being is still undecided, but what I do know for sure is that the speech is going to be replaced with even more extremely funny and stupid speech made by me.

The developers haven't released much detail in modding Crusader except for the AI's castle design. I am assuming that replacing the speeches with my own will be very easy considering they are all in a folder in WAV format and can be played through any video/sound player. Changing what they say should be simply recording and saving sound in WAV and replacing the according file with the new one.

True Stat Mod
New things added along with there effects on game play:

  • bullet speed (noticeable, you now have to fire ahead of targets at range).
  • bullets have decreasing speed over time (unnoticeable, will effect long range accuracy).
  • bullet curvature (noticeable, past a weapons maximum effective range a bullets path changes).
  • spread increases when turning (noticeable, effects accuracy).
  • in game weapon names are more detailed (noticeable, no effect on game play).

Modified things:

  • reload times decreased or increased (so that the game can match real life cyclic rate of fire).
  • spreads are changed to be more realistic.
  • 2x starting ammo.
  • 2x max ammo.
  • ammo drop ranges increased.
  • sway has been edited to be in a more up, down motion.
  • clip sizes will be changed to the largest possible.

Since i am starting to work on the True Stat Mod (Realistic Mod) the release of the EZ-ifier Alpha is not being released.

How am I going to make the the stats of weapons more realistic?

There a site that has created a database of real weapons based on actual research. Stats off all weapons found in the sites data base and in cod4 will be matched.

HELP

Does anyone know what the unit for ranges are based on?

Almost all of the weapons are ready (excluding attachments).

  • Explosive Chaos - Makes the game explosive based chaos.

all of the default class weapons have been fully tested and fire explosives. 

  • Realistic - the weapons will be made more real life accurate.

I know what codes need to be changed in order to make ballistic weapons turn in to projectile weapons so now i can recode any weapon to fire rpg projetiles instead of bullets. I am currently testing and correcting a working m40a3 rpg firing sniper and so far the only thing that needs to be changed is the rockets flight deviation.
