It's a complete conversion, only single player.
Not much of native is left.
It does take very long yes, but only when starting a new game. Loading a saved game takes seconds. Although 15 min. is a long time. It takes 2 min. for me, but depends on your PC.
Please see this thread with advice on crashes:
You only have about 2 GB RAM, so especially changing buffer size is a good idea.
But read all 5 solutions. It can make it work.
Building a lair requires some renown. Not much though, so it won't take long. Then there's an option to build a lair. It costs 20,000. You can garrison troops and prisoners, and hire some staff.
It's for Warband 1.143
If you have the serial key you can download Warband and use the key to activate it.
Yes, it's more stable. But still requires a good PC to run. Not sure what you mean by the ambush. Should that not happen?
No, Motte and Bailey castles were introduced by the Normans (after year 1066). It's a promontory fort by the sea in Scotland: Dunnottar (called Duin Foither in the mod).
No, it's actually an Irish fort. Small as some of them were.
Thank you for that bug report.
We plan to add Freelancer in a later version, making sure no bugs go with it.
Most crashes are caused by low performance or lack of RAM.
Please see this page:
Brytenwalda requires more RAM and generally more GPU/CPU power than native. Please see this thread on how to optimise performance and avoid crashes:
Both Idibil and I would like to upload it here, but none of us has the option; even though we are both labelled: Brytenwalda-DevTeam. It's really annoying. I can't upload screenshots either. Maybe a PM to a moderator is in place...
No, that has not been reported before. Works fine for me.
I can only suggest this page with advice about performance issues:
Don't know a specific fix for that problem...
Sadly sea battles don't always work. Perhaps best to avoid them for now. You should be sure to download the version uploaded on July 31. It's still called 1.35 but freelancer (enlisting in lord's army) was taken out because it caused too many bugs.
Not sure what could be causing it. But be sure to wait at least 3-4 minutes when starting a new game. That's how long it takes!
Loading a saved game is only a few seconds.
Certainly. It's called Freelancer. You can download the mod here:
Not many make mods for M&B 1, since Warband is so much better, and with more features.
It has already been ported to Warband 1.143, but we're having some trouble with the latest release. So it's postponed, I don't know for how long.
Low honor makes you able to recruit bandits. It's kind of a rogue character.
New version 1.34 IS NOW RELEASED!
Please go to Taleworlds for download and further info:
Perhaps i should mention, as done at Taleworlds forum, that the release of next version has been pushed to July 15th. Hopefully that can be met. Some nasty bugs need to be sorted out :(
Thank you. It's noted. Next version will be released July 1. and should be more stable.
Version 1.34 will be released July 1.
Then we will think about plans for an expansion. Nothing has been decided yet.
That's okay. We plan on releasing version 1.34 no later than the end of July. That's our goal, but no promises.
Velvet is now called 'fine cloth'. Sorry about that.
It's still the same (red) model.
There are no 'traditional' Vikings. There are Dena (Danish) and Frankish raiders, Saxons, Angles and Jutes. The mod takes place in year 636 and the first recorded Viking raid is about year 793.
But one can obviously imagine raids long before that - just not recorded.
