I'm willing to convert to just about anything if it means this will be a playable, deep, beautiful and awesome game. And don't call me Failbaddon, it makes me feel not good inside. :,(

They'll probably screw this up. Based on everything since the original dow, I do not have high expectations. However, by the gods, may the anathema prove me wrong!

But seriously, ceramite armoured, genetically enhanced, unageing, unwavering, towering, insta healing relentless space marines were not enough.
Legions of them, supported by batallions wheeled, winged, tracked and hovering vehicles were not enough.
Flotillas of gun bristling cities, combined into great fleets of death dealing swarms of lasers, missiles, assault craft and awesomeness were not enough.
Myraid serfs, crewmembers, magos and other support staff were not enough.
The countless, endless tide of the never ending torrents of men from the imperial guard were not enough.
The Imperium just needed that god damned centurion. **** that thing looks ugly..

Well that's the thing, it already hase a huuge polycount for a game, so adding statues that are low poly and would not look good is a no-no for me

well the model is gonna be done (a bit more HQ then the ships you're seeing now ;)), as far as how it's going to be implemented goes, it's not really my choice, and I guess anything can change. but since this is pretty high poly, it would be hard to have fleets of these bad boys flying around.

Well, as far as the poly count goes, we'll see, however the model has a 14k poly limit, which was the up most limit we could afford. This one has about 11k, so it should be fine. As far as the guns go, I made it true to the schematics I could find. But as you said, with the impossible scale of these things, would you really expect them to have any fewer ridiculously large guns?

Thank you, and the retribution class is my latest asset. Really proud of it, almost 5,5m polys and over half od GB just for the model size. Starting the scene work soon, so I reckon I'll make a nice image :)

No problem, always glad to see people check in on the progress. ;)

And to give you hope, yes, when the generic vessels are done, definitely! As you can clearly see, I've got a thing for these ornate gothic ships, so the more I can make, the better. You'll get too see quite a few more, I can promise you that! :)

Abbaddon Nov 9 2012, 9:37am replied:

We have no plans of making the Terminus Est, or any particular craft that is a standalone model atm, because I am focusing on making the more generic vessel classes, which can be used in multitude - like the firestorm, scythe cruiser etc.

As far as the campaign goes, I really can't say anything, because I just don't know yet. As the only modeller currently working on the project (haven't heard from Teliri in a while now), work is slow at best. If we get more people to work on the project, we will have more to show in less time, and maybe up our goals a notch. :)

Abbaddon Nov 8 2012, 3:40pm replied:

Well, this vessel is definitely going in the mod, but I'll most likely build it from ground up again, rather than to clear this model - the limit is 12k polys, and this bad boy has about 900k atm, and it's going to get a lot higher.;)

My goal with this model in particular is to improve my modelling skills, and to make a badass wallpaper art when it's done, kind of like this ( ), the only difference being that this one actually HAD 12k polys. I'll share when done. ;)

Hey, just want to apologize to everyone, I haven't got to creating a new vessel for the mod yet, got tied up in a personal project, but I decided to share it with you, since it's BFG related - Here's a link to my wordpress post, hope you'll like it :)

Wow.. I really see the bottom right guy being a real tactical asset: blind, mute, and being chained to a rifle which demands redemption. And most likely the death of everyone who isn't wearing an IG uniform. All in all, a sane co combatant, alongside which every soldier ever worthy of being called one, would gladly go into combat.. 40k <3

Abbaddon Sep 18 2012, 3:59pm replied:

well, as far as I could gather from the references (and those were scarce, let me tell you), the prow "gun" isn't really even a gun,but perhaps more of an communications/scanners array? If I am mistaken, someone please correct me, because I have also never seen an actual BFG model before, so I had to go with my imagination on some parts.

On the other hand, I did find out that there are three main variants of the firestorm frigate, and this is the only one with the prow thingy on it (and also the most detail and levels on the top - where i reckon the "CIC" and the strategium are located, so i decided to make this one). So I might go back and do the other two variants in the future.. :)

So just to let you know, I'm already working on a new vessel, and it's a Necron ship this time around. I'll keep you guessing on which one, but i think it's starting to turn out pretty good so far.. ;)
