This is my first blog, and it is for anyone who thinks FL Studio is just a toy DAW that really isn't proffesional. I was talking to a guy the other day who has a studio and he was saying how Reason was so great and everything. Also a few people on this site mentioned how Reason was better and provided a larger sound than FL Studio. My point is:
What you put in is what comes out.
So I mean sure, a lot of my music sounds pretty small and shriveled compared to other people's music. But I'd like to add that I really didn't know much about mastering or mixing back then. (Mastering is still a problem to me) And you can't tell me that you don't have to master tracks on Reason or Cakewalk or Pro Tools, because you do. There isn't anything that automatically detects and lowers frequencies and raises them and still has the mix sound good. Sure my track might have sounded a little bigger with Reason if I hadn't mixed and mastered it in Reason. But once you mix and master things in FL Studio, it goes up to the same level as Reason or Pro Tools.
Anyways that's my rant, and if anyone wants proof just listen to:
(and unfortunately that rap song by Soulja Boy Tellem was made in FL Studio. It even used a lot of the default samples... lol)

This group is for all the musicians at ModDB. I place to show off their work and to discuss music. You could also ask for help for a song or give suggestions...
Undertone is a music and sound based team. A "guild" of musicians in the mod scene. If your mod is in need of sound engineers or composers to create full...

Am I? Is it only one year then? I thought it was 2
yeah, wasn't monotonous at all. Very very exciting and kept me going sort of. The only thing I might say, was teh ending was a bit abrupt.
I think one of the first lessons my music teacher thought me was end a song a long note.... or something lke that.
sorry the volume just goes up and up and get louder with out any variation.
wow. The new one was much better. I completely loved how it ended. But still some stuff. I don't know if I didn't notice this about the old one, or it's new but you know the like riffs for the foreground. It's got some really catchy ones, but they don't flow well. I don't know what else to say, or how to help it. I don't listen to this kind of stuff often so yeah. But some of the stuff it feels out of place, it comes back to normalness in like a second later. But just for that one second. I just think, hunh. It's the times when you have that starting riff play again. Yeah that's about it. I'm not sure how you can help that though. Just listen to people's music.
Also, on a side note. I think you should starting working on giving your songs a sort of plot graph. These are kind of short so you can't do it here. But just think about it. I don't know if you know drama stuff, but you must have learned about it in english. Like introduction, inciting moment. Climax, that sort of stuff. Anyway, lots of really like intense type music needs that, especially techoy stuff like this. You need to start off, then start building up, and changing and going back. Then reach this point where everything is just like pew, bam and ptsh. And then like sort of snap out of it somehow. and then end it somehow after that. Not too quickly though. But you need longer songs. Just think about it. That's all. This is just something I noticed with musicians, of all types. Wow sorry for the long post.
For trance thing:
did you make that melody wierd thing yourself. Well anyway. The thing was't great. Mainly because the back ground beat wasn't good enough. It didn't meet standards with the foreground. Which was really frikin' sweet. Good job with that. I really loved that. but the main thing. The effects and stuff. Yeah, sounded really good. Did the cheese thing give that sort of effect to the foreground thing?
Acid was pretty cool, though umm yeah. Some of the stuff you could tell it was looped because it ended abruptly. Like how it ended. Though your music needs a bit mroe intensity, it seems like this is all just an intro to some other song. A very long and repetetive intro. But it was still pretty cool, I know I wouldn't be able to make something liek that. though you kinda need to put more melody into your song. Just one riff can be really helpful, you sort of had like notes and stuff in this one, but that sounded more like part of the beat. Anyway, keep at it. You'll probably become pro soon enough, at the speed your going at.
