I heard about this the other day. It will be good for Homeworld to be back on the shelves (if only Steam and places like GoG, but still), hopefully it'll breathe life back into the franchise and the modding community. Really looking forward to the HD remake, actually, since higher poly in-game assets means our **** won't lag when we make the transition to the newer platform :D.
Well docking in combat would leave all ships vulnerable to attack and even outside of combat, ships may not be able to repair fast enough. However, the carrier will be capable of building the Gyges repair drones much like the Hermes so servicing the fleet won't be as big a burden. Repair drones are honestly the one thing that keeps ships alive in and out of combat (redundant I know as servicing all the corvettes would be tedious, but theres no where to dock corvettes to on the carrier).
Why do you think it would be able to carry corvettes?
dat UA attachment
The aircraft will launch from the belly just like the other cruisers in the mod. The carrier will either carry max fighter pop. for small-medium scale fleet sizes or just a little under so the Hermes is still useful. Depending on what route we go, there will be one or two subsystems you can build on the carrier: one will allow construction of strikecraft while the other may allot more hangar space (if possible, perhaps a second entrance I'm not sure). The canon explanation for this is that the invasion hangars (aka ground deployment facilities) are gutted in favor of a more space oriented carrier since all UNSC carriers in the Halo universe have a dual role of ground deployment and fighter support.
Well it's not a super carrier, just a fleet support carrier.
Think dimensions in regards to the Marathon, it's about the same I would think, perhaps longer but height wise the same.
No it doesn't.
You must be referencing Defender.
nah it's cool. Probably just a bit longer than the Marathon.
Well even if I was, I wouldn't be able to tell anyone due to NDA.
What? Why do you ask?
I don't know? Its not that important to me.
"Models & Textures by BioWare"
What are you talking about?
To save polys, the tails will not swing. That would be pretty cool if they did, though, and it's highly possible since Vaygr ships do this with their rudders on the back. I may, however, have the tail fins on the bottom rotate but I'm not sure yet.
No the vanilla races will be removed when the Covenant are added.
pretty late reply, but any way to get a hold of these?
Yes, five days means we're dead.
That doesn't make much sense to have faded worn out edges and corners and then have the paint on the surface also fade. IMO it is too dark and would fit better with the Reapers only because this has the same color palette as the Reapers.
If you establish a specific art style for a type or faction, you should stick with it to the end. There's no reason to mix up units unless you intend to go back and redo them all.
When I have time to work on the mod I guess. Currently I've been busy with a bunch of stuff and it's only Cas and I that are active at the moment.
I can't really say since Aliah did everything in her own style so for me to go back and change stuff would mean I would have to change and reformat everything to really understand. Coding is not my forte, but it's on the to-do list.
No boarding craft yet, probably never.
One update and the flood gates of relentless fans are opened upon HHF.
Maybe and thanks we will :)
I'm not too keen on doing buffs/debuffs unless it's research specific. That's more of a SoaSE thing and not a HW2 thing.
I should delete the old version, but it's basically to keep track of bug fixes and stuff before releasing a new version of the mod. They're not patches but rather different versions of the mod that have been updated over time.
Yeah I haven't finished the overlay setup for the SMAC yet.
Yes a full version updated with patch 1.1 of the retail game.
