Gun is probably too detailed for an RTS game. Could use those extra polys to make the shroud for the turret.
The model could probably be optimized more based on the shading artifacts on the front of the arm. How many tris?
Nope. Not for the UNSC at least.
Well in terms of their two roles, the Orthrus is used mainly for massive damage up front and dealing with harder targets while the Thanatos is more like the frigate in that its good at moving and taking out softer targets easier.
Does CNC3 use/support normal mapping? I'm just curious because it looks like you used emboss techniques on your Pelican texture.
You could probably knock a few polies off by removing the hub cap detail, it's not really needed and can be added in easily by a texture.
You're not a fan of Rocket Race? :P
******* love Dunkey.
There's unusual stretching on the tire textures, and I've noticed this on a lot of your other models. You could simply just repeat one section of the tire with the same texture to save UV space and improve visual quality.
That would be pretty cool actually, if there were two types: the transport variant that is called in and then the build-able gunship variant similar to the one from Halo 4, except with guns that aren't mounted on the top.
But Rheinland's top officials are aliens, shouldn't that give them the technology advantage? :P
I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean here. Lazy?
Exactly. We strive to make the best possible Halo experience while also doing our own thing. This includes stretching canon in favor of fun and enjoyment.
Oh okay if its in 3DS Max, then you might want to delete the smoothing groups before render. I sometimes also have this issue.
Well from toying around before I made planets and other megaliths unrealistically small, planets and stuff used to z-clip if there was another object behind or in front of it and if the object were too small/thin like a Halo ring. Sadly I don't think there's any way around it.
The issue you're having seems to be what I encountered where a smaller object is near a bigger object as your ring itself does not clip, but the surface details you've added.
Yeah those are the only ships that use them. Unfortunately AMD updates tend to break legacy with previous versions so there might be an error in just how old your hardware is.
HW2 isn't meant to do the stuff we force it to and not every system will work properly. I would suggest trying out different options in the settings and see if that fixes anything first.
Yeah the Orthrus hasn't been updated yet. If it does it on all of the ships, then it may be a hardware issue. How old is your graphics card?
Dunno what would cause one ship to have the issue since all the UNSC ships use the same greeble texture (I.E. the UNSC logo and micro details on the hull such as Archers and vents/RCS ports).
You have to go into the camera settings and change the render distances. The only issue is that you can eliminate clipping of very large objects with the trade off being small objects begin to have clipping errors.
You guys need to fix your smoothing groups, not enough sharp edges makes the shadows display improperly.
that skybox. <3
I don't, please. I'm White American. :P Unless you want me to speak like Buk Lau
Still trying to get my computer sorted out, but the mod won't be finished for a while. Release will be soon.
I can voice act for Japanese, I have-a very very good engrish.
Man reminds me of 2005.
Yeah I have the issue as well and haven't been able to pin-point it, though I think it has to do with a graphical limit. I've been meaning to restructure the FX folder for a long time and see if that fixes anything because there shouldn't be any issues.
Well my new mobo won't recognize win7 and I don't have the disc anymore so I need to buy win8 and risk the mod tools not working again ugh. Probably gonna see about getting my now throw away PC running again for the time being.
My computer is apart. I got a new mobo, 16gb of RAM and an i5 4670k processor and the mobo didnt fit my case :( gonna see about getting a case tomorrow. Or more thermal paste since my computer is screwed right now. Sorry guys.
Merry Christmas everyone. As always, something unexpected happens. Just want to let you all know from the hhf team that we're working very hard to get this release out to you folks.
