I've played a lot of rogue-like games in the past, but none that actually feels as suspenseful and exciting as Project Zomboid. The uncertainty of what's lurking around the next bend, the fear of getting almost hopelessly lost in the massive forests that surround the town, the terror of being attacked by legions of the undead- it's all here. There's no sense of security whatsoever. Even after clearing a location enough to consider it a shelter never guarantees safety, and you could find yourself overwhelmed easily. For an alpha release, Zomboid excels at bringing the zombie apocalypse to light. As of this writing, survivors haven't been added, so it's still just you against the world. Good luck.
