Actually, most Mandalorians were killed at Malachor V. That was the final spearhead of the Republic forces controlled under Revan and Malak to stop the Mandalorian Crusade. The only reason that the Mandalorians survived was because Canderous Ordo was elected Mandalore and he rebuilt the shattered race and rallied then on Dxun.
