i am sorry for the long time needed to answer your message, we took a really long pause on this mod, because we had to gather alot of ressources and watch around...every trek episode ever :)
and now, that we're back, we dont seem to understand the new ModDB, where to add news and images? :/

well here are your answers:

1. since you are aboard of a starfleet ship, you can pretty much think of the classes as in divisions, like Engineering Officer or Medical Officer

2. We didnt yet think about that, i'd like to hear your input, about everything mainly and if you know alot about RPG's everythign will help!

3. We thought about that, there are special classes that shouldnt be availible for a low player, like in starfleet you'd normally have to make a _bridge officers test_ (forgot the name) to be allowed to take command and all that.

4. yes, the officer in command is able to give moral and courage to his crew. we are really looking forward to see how this will work out online, as then you would take the position you'd like. and be together in a real team, but thats something to look at later, the storyline is not yet finished, so is the design doc :/
