Little historical background: in 1933 soviet engineers start development of remote controlled tanks. It's been T-26 based tank, TT-26, with KS-25 flamethrover, remote controlled from T-26 based command tank, TU-26. 55 tanks (TT-26) build from 1935 to 1938, used in september 1939 campaign against Poland, Winter War and in Great Patriotic War (almost all lost in june-july 1941 combats). Last TT-26 preserved in Kubinka tank museum, last TU-26 preserved in Central Armed Forces Museum (Moscow).

When we start repaint TT-26 we want to do this tank:

Same camo scheme used in 1939 Poland campaign, it's a good addition for Red Army camo exposition in Kubinka tank museum Hangar #3 (light tanks).

Preserved TT-26 is a 1935-36 production tank. In spring 2007 he already hame more 3 mm of paint layers, with "corocdile skin" effect, no chance for simple overpaint

We have only one way in this situation - full paint removing and full repaint.

 12 May: let's start!

Initial idea for paint layers removing - using of SP-6 paint remover (real effective stuff!) and palette-knife, later using of angle sander for finish paint removing operation. Effective method, but not for this tank!

You can see result of 4 hours of work. Only 1-2 mm of layers is removed, real die hard!

Anyone want a soup (SP-6 paint remover, 50l)? :)
