Try this mod for UT04 called Blue moon rising!!
This mod has a classic feel to it like the resident evil games,
Blue Moon Rising is a mature, narrative-led co-operative multiplayer survival horror played in the first person.
Teams of four or five player-controlled troopers try to reclaim earth from the AI-controlled zombies that have taken over. The experience is akin to a massive co-operative single player game. It can be played online and over a LAN.
The main strength of the game is the storyline. A sci-fi horror set in the near future where mankind fights for survival against the zombie hordes that make up ninety-nine percent of the ‘population’ of the world. Humanity has been on the defensive for fifty years - the players join the struggle as the tide is turned against the living dead…
Also try this little mod out called Zombies of Nightmare, its at this site, good fun mod with a lots of different zombies to kill

Yeah, you probably tried to go alone and played one of the maps, which are glitched (like WInchester). You gotta remember, people are making mods here, so nothing is quite perfect. Also Killing Floor ha recently been added a RPG system, which totally ruins the game.
Ever since that day, I don't play it anymore. So I feel you are partly right, yet KF used to be a great game and a Coop experience.
There are no good zombie mods right now?
- Yes there is Killing Floor! That's a damn good mod for UT04. Check it out if you like coop-zombie hunting.
