That looks super nice!
Now THAT's Silent Hill 1:1, awesome job!
As zonbie said- it would be really awesome to play whatever you've created so far for the Source engine. I'd be happy to just walk around on the maps without the AI or anything and just admire the awesome map design and graphics :)
I don't get people who play scary games in broad daylight. The main point of these games is to get scared so you probably play them for this very reason. So why not maximise the whole effect by playing in the dark?
Now that's one mean looking tank!
I'd rather have a polished mod than a rushed one, no matter how much longer it takes.
You can only have the "new" experience only once- the first time you play it; and no matter how much you patch it afterwards the first (the most interesting) playthrough experience will be ruined if the mod is not polished enough.
Um...Are you sure you guys aren't going to have some sort of copyright problems with Sergiy Grygorovych (the owner of the STALKER franchise)?
Aren't those all rendered in Cryengine 3? So this mod is a Crysis 2 mod now?
They all look absolutely awesome btw!
*nvm this comment*
Thank you! I've been waiting for this patch for a long time now. I can finally try to beat the flooded map with my fellow survivors!
Like everyone else here, I too love that first "desperate" reload animation, it gives you that feeling of suspense, it's just perfect!
I love the greenery!
Awesome news! But, I can't figure out the point of attaching ammo to your belt...Can anyone help me out here?
lol at first glance it looked like the bandit was doing the Max Payne dive :D
I think L.U.R.K. is the perfect mod for you then
So are there any negative side effects when you don't eat/drink enough? Like getting tired quickly or maybe passing out?
Noticed that info about nutrition should be posted soon. Finally :D! I've been waiting so long to see what they've done with this gameplay aspect
This update- Moddb.com was hidden until people found that part of the video. So it was spotted quite a while ago
I'd take a dump on Owl's desk when he asks too much money for supplies
Did I miss something in CoP...? :D
Vignette sort of "forces" the screen inwards and (at least for me) creates a feeling of being more "in the game" so to speak. You need to see the game in motion to fully appreciate it. But to each his/her own
This doesn't give any indication of whether the AI actually conserves ammo or still wastes it by trying to shoot through your impenetrable cover, which I think FireFly was asking
I hope this doesn't lead to a cheap tactic where you can just wait behind cover until the AI has stupidly wasted all of its primary ammo while trying to shoot/suppress you- making them a considerably smaller threat after that, with only their pistols
OMG this is awesome (I know I keep saying this about MISERY over and over but there's nothing I can do, it just IS awesome)
lol I can't wait to find out; in-game that is
You gave them the ability to jump, didn't you?
Invulnerable enemies, unless they have a bulletproof shield don't make any sense. If devs want to make fighting blood suckers more challenging then they should make their movement speed faster
Hah that's awesome!
PS. N.Aaroe you're a fantastic concept artist, your work is one of the best I've ever seen, honestly!
Sounds more like a helicopter to me :D But it's a cool idea!
I also caught Spider-Man on your screenshot
Mutations can go both ways- they can cripple(most of the time) but also enhance some aspects, like in MISERY's explanation of things where animals' nervous system is messed up and they don't feel pain; so it's plausible. As for the anomalies, yeah they are a bit difficult to find a reasonable explanation but well- that's why they're called anomalies, they have anomalous properties caused by forces we're not familiar with. Maybe tiny "mutated" black holes or something..?
Having features that are realistic or at least plausible make it that much more awesome for me; so the more realistic explanation things have the better (while still maintaining the fun factor). Exactly what laws of nature do you think are not depicted correctly in STALKER?
I gave it some thought and logically an electromagnetic emission is just a pulse, a wave moving through space so it can't stay in one place for some time and "leave a residue" like I mention. But what I think it can do is give small particles (like dust that has been blown up into the air by wind) an electric charge, which can disrupt electrical devices like night vision and flashlights etc. and make them flicker for example. I'm no physicist so I'm not sure how realistic this would actually be
Wow, that's an awesome idea! Maybe even have that effect stay for a while even after the emission has stopped, like there's some electromagnetic residue still in the air (I'm not sure if that's realistic though)
Damn, that sucks. Weird though how some people don't make backups of their hard work, HDD crashes are quite common.
I hope you guys can get back on track soon :)
One other thing though- are the sounds effects used in this video all in-game sounds? I don't remember STALKER having such realistic echo effects in buildings
Are you really THAT Robbaz or just an impersonator?
I know this is just personal preference but I'm sure many would agree that you should play the un-modded vanilla CoP first (maybe add some graphics enhancers and better skybox texture, but nothing else). MISERY gives you a completely different experience compared to the vanilla game which represents GSC's vision of how the game should look and feel and would make a logical next step assuming you played vanilla SoC and Clear Sky before
I think this question will be addressed in the "nutrition" update
