That looks super nice!
Now THAT's Silent Hill 1:1, awesome job!
As zonbie said- it would be really awesome to play whatever you've created so far for the Source engine. I'd be happy to just walk around on the maps without the AI or anything and just admire the awesome map design and graphics :)
I don't get people who play scary games in broad daylight. The main point of these games is to get scared so you probably play them for this very reason. So why not maximise the whole effect by playing in the dark?
Now that's one mean looking tank!
I'd rather have a polished mod than a rushed one, no matter how much longer it takes.
You can only have the "new" experience only once- the first time you play it; and no matter how much you patch it afterwards the first (the most interesting) playthrough experience will be ruined if the mod is not polished enough.
Um...Are you sure you guys aren't going to have some sort of copyright problems with Sergiy Grygorovych (the owner of the STALKER franchise)?
Aren't those all rendered in Cryengine 3? So this mod is a Crysis 2 mod now?
They all look absolutely awesome btw!
*nvm this comment*
Thank you! I've been waiting for this patch for a long time now. I can finally try to beat the flooded map with my fellow survivors!
Like everyone else here, I too love that first "desperate" reload animation, it gives you that feeling of suspense, it's just perfect!
I love the greenery!
Awesome news! But, I can't figure out the point of attaching ammo to your belt...Can anyone help me out here?
Vignette sort of "forces" the screen inwards and (at least for me) creates a feeling of being more "in the game" so to speak. You need to see the game in motion to fully appreciate it. But to each his/her own
This doesn't give any indication of whether the AI actually conserves ammo or still wastes it by trying to shoot through your impenetrable cover, which I think FireFly was asking
I hope this doesn't lead to a cheap tactic where you can just wait behind cover until the AI has stupidly wasted all of its primary ammo while trying to shoot/suppress you- making them a considerably smaller threat after that, with only their pistols
OMG this is awesome (I know I keep saying this about MISERY over and over but there's nothing I can do, it just IS awesome)
lol I can't wait to find out; in-game that is
You gave them the ability to jump, didn't you?
Invulnerable enemies, unless they have a bulletproof shield don't make any sense. If devs want to make fighting blood suckers more challenging then they should make their movement speed faster
Hah that's awesome!
PS. N.Aaroe you're a fantastic concept artist, your work is one of the best I've ever seen, honestly!
Sounds more like a helicopter to me :D But it's a cool idea!
I also caught Spider-Man on your screenshot
Mutations can go both ways- they can cripple(most of the time) but also enhance some aspects, like in MISERY's explanation of things where animals' nervous system is messed up and they don't feel pain; so it's plausible. As for the anomalies, yeah they are a bit difficult to find a reasonable explanation but well- that's why they're called anomalies, they have anomalous properties caused by forces we're not familiar with. Maybe tiny "mutated" black holes or something..?
Having features that are realistic or at least plausible make it that much more awesome for me; so the more realistic explanation things have the better (while still maintaining the fun factor). Exactly what laws of nature do you think are not depicted correctly in STALKER?
I gave it some thought and logically an electromagnetic emission is just a pulse, a wave moving through space so it can't stay in one place for some time and "leave a residue" like I mention. But what I think it can do is give small particles (like dust that has been blown up into the air by wind) an electric charge, which can disrupt electrical devices like night vision and flashlights etc. and make them flicker for example. I'm no physicist so I'm not sure how realistic this would actually be
Wow, that's an awesome idea! Maybe even have that effect stay for a while even after the emission has stopped, like there's some electromagnetic residue still in the air (I'm not sure if that's realistic though)
Damn, that sucks. Weird though how some people don't make backups of their hard work, HDD crashes are quite common.
I hope you guys can get back on track soon :)
One other thing though- are the sounds effects used in this video all in-game sounds? I don't remember STALKER having such realistic echo effects in buildings
Are you really THAT Robbaz or just an impersonator?
I know this is just personal preference but I'm sure many would agree that you should play the un-modded vanilla CoP first (maybe add some graphics enhancers and better skybox texture, but nothing else). MISERY gives you a completely different experience compared to the vanilla game which represents GSC's vision of how the game should look and feel and would make a logical next step assuming you played vanilla SoC and Clear Sky before
I think this question will be addressed in the "nutrition" update
That looks really nice! It would certainly give any first person game that extra level of immersion, especially horror games
It looks really nice IMO
Maybe it's just me (I'm kinda sleepy), but the only thing that seems a bit off is his lower jawbone (on the left image), which looks a bit too big. But again, it may just be me
If you're lucky enough to afford yourself such luxury and don't have to worry about the money too much then sure, why not :)
3900 GIGA Hz? Holy crap :D
Beta testing doesn't usually mean playing the game in the sense that people normally play. When you test a game you are supposed to look for bugs and try to intentionally "break" the game, so I'm pretty sure you won't be able to immerse yourself in the game like you normally would.
So no, I would definitely not accept that offer
16GB is total overkill for gaming, there's no game out there that uses more than 4GB, they mostly use around 3GB max; so 6GB of RAM is enough for now to have some breathing room (taken into consideration that you have other programs/Windows itself using some of it) and 8GB would be considered future-proof
THAT would be the coolest thing EVER!
Happy new year to you too!
I'd love to be there during the play session but again the finals in uni ruin everything :(
"It's 2 o'clock- time to shoot things"
Mine too. There's just something about that whole atmosphere of Mirror's Edge that no other game has. Those kind of sterile looking modern, newly built buildings give me a sort of dream-like feeling for some reason and I just can't get enough of it. I keep coming back to this game again and again, even though I've already completed it like 10 times already
Looks really awesome!
Being able to specifically call in a smoke shell barrage- really nice!
Ah, the famous bolt. It's like the STALKER's version of the iconic Gordon Freeman's crowbar from the Half-Life series
That looks depressing as hell to be honest :S
Using the light to kill the enemies was a unique feature of Alan Wake, but even your visual effects look really similar- it's no wonder people are making this comparison.
Unless the zombie is soaked in gasoline I can't think of a reason why it should light on fire to be honest. As far as i know NMRiH is still trying to be semi-realistic
"Game Oven". How stupid can I be -__-...
I just love the X-Ray engine's lighting
I haven't played CoP for ages but it looks like the Jupiter plant
The site looks really awesome btw, very professional
lol at first glance it looked like the bandit was doing the Max Payne dive :D
Though I'm not implying that this is a ripoff; storm sewers pretty much all look like this
Reminds me of one of the sewers levels from Mirror's Edge :)
omg lol I'm stupid, I thought this was a new demo :D
Awesome! Gonna try it out as soon as possible, loved the first demo!
But the one thing I can't wait to see is a T-Rex, in the night in a forest with lots of breakable trees, chasing me and pretty much all I see/hear is tree trunks breaking and snapping behind me. That would be the part where I crap my pants
The standard version looks nice and believable; this one on the other hand - not too much. Having a second head with teeth grow out of its *** is a bit too far-fetched IMO
Thank you guys for making this brilliant mod! I hope to play this for at least another 5 years!
lol was thinking the exact same thing
T-Rex's right eye: "Oh god that's delicious", left eye: "Uuuh, a rifle!" :D
But an awesome action-packed screenshot
You are spot on!
This dropped my jaw to the floor and broke it :(
Everything looks absolutely awesome! Nice work!
That must be the dwelling place of The Knights Who Say Ni
Yeah, same here. My aging rig just can't keep up with this mod anymore :(
If you want to take it a step further you should make it so that you need to have these simple lead containers physically present in the backpack as an item and you have to "combine" the artifact and the container. If you just have the artifact without the lead container it gives you both the negative effects (full radiation) and also the positive effects. So you have to be prepared to find one these artifacts because obviously the lead container weighs quite a bit and takes up inventory space. And if you find an artifact but you don't have a lead container you have to make a decision: do you pick it up and hope the radiation doesn't kill you before you find a trader or you remember the spot, buy a lead container and then come back for it.
But I'm afraid this might get a bit annoying; just throwing out some ideas
It looks like it's made out of stone :)
But the point here is to show off the model, not the texture I believe; and the model looks nice
Apocalypse usually means the devastation of the whole world, in STALKER only the area of the Zone is affected. So yeah, it's not actually post-apocalyptic IMO. But saying "post-local disaster" or something like that would be weird :P
Looks like a real stone.
Awesome job whoever did this!
lol, you're right :D
Watch out, CoD generation passing through
Mother of god...Those two screenshots look like real photographs. I had to double check them in full screen to be sure.
Awesome work there, especially with the mill!
Wow, it's a real hassle to get these sounds recorded
Best of luck to you with this project!
That sounds awesome!! I hope Beac can implement this
Are those spare tracks in the front?
Or just some spikes in case enemy infantry decides to tackle the tank head-on?
The pistol itself looks cool, but how the hell is one supposed to aim down the sight with that hinge-thingy flipping up-and-down after every shot? I imagine it got pretty annoying
Ah, silly me, judging by the name I thought it was going to be a tank of some sort
I looks really long
For some reason I really love those 2 pics
The guy must be using some sort of graphics mods/tweaks
High-heeled boots? On a guy? wut? xD
Or is it a chick? Then it's okay I guess
Falaise Pocket maybe?
Looks eerie. Really cool atmosphere on this pic!
Damn this looks almost real...
Good read! I hope you find some like-minded modders who share the same vision with you so they can help you with this project and speed up the development
Ooh, I thought it was like a new player class ;P
Cool update as usual, but uh...Where's the new class type..?
Same here dude! I just couldn't get enough of this franchise when I was little! Oh the memories...
Shadows and shaders are two completely different things dude....
Woo! Pripyat!!! Looks really nice! :)
Video not found :(
Awesome, AWESOME work guys!!!
Damn this thing looks friggen creepy!
