3d artist for modern isometric rpg hamish mcleod inc anywhere artists this is a post-launch payment job (nothing upfront) hi, i'm a designer/programmer seeking a 3d artist to help me complete the game i've been working on for the past few years. it's closest to an rpg, with a focus on varied and deep gameplay systems, a compelling story and less of a focus on stats and number-crunching that is traditionally associated with the genre. it has a contemporary setting, with slight sci-fi and supernatural elements to keep things interesting. it controls in real time with the mouse and keyboard using a customizable hotbar, like a cross between an mmo and a twin-stick shooter. the camera angle is close to isometric, although with perspective, and the game plays out in full 3d. i'm aiming for a pc release initially but the game can be ported to mac or linux post-release if demand is there. the game engine has been through several revisions, most gameplay systems have been tested and it's rapidly approaching the point where i need art assets to continue. it currently has an opengl 3 renderer that supports shaders (unlike the picture), an entity-component architecture similar to unity, and a scripting language similiar to lua. physics aren't in at the moment, as my old physics library wasn't good enough, but i expect to be using the bullet physics engine in future. i'm looking for an experienced, dedicated 3d artist to model/texture/animate the game for me. 2d art skills (for things like gui and promotional art) are a bonus but not required. you need to be able to take my basic concept drawings, references and descriptions and turn it into game art. the art pipeline is fairly flexible so we can try different rendering styles, but i generally want something that is low-poly, well textured and doesn't need lots of post-processing to look good. i like the simple, clean, slightly-exaggerated look of the models in the persona games and used them as a basis when i tried to learn to model myself. i like japanese art/anime and i'm looking for an art style that combines the qualities of western and eastern game artwork. character models are my priority right now, i have basic environmental modelling skills myself, but i'd really like somebody who can do most of the art so i can focus on the other areas of the game. my work schedule is fairly relaxed but i do want someone who is commited and willing to see the project through to the end. here is an early prototype screenshot using placeholder graphics: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1549864/game.jpg

sprite/art designers for semi-educational rpg anywhere anywhere artists i'm looking for help with an rpg i have been working on in the rpg maker xp engine. it's a semi-educational rpg that uses asperger's syndrome and autism as part of the plot. the protagonists are two cousins with asperger's and autism respectively. the settings will be mostly real-world type locations with a few more fantasy-themed areas called "dream worlds" that represent problems people with asperger's may have. i would mostly like a sprite artist or two to help design art for the game. but i have a bit of difficulty with making sprite art myself and i'd like some help to make it look like it fits in the game and with the more "default" rpg maker xp graphics i'm using. i also might be able to use someone who had some advice when it came to coding. i would like to eventually release the game for profit but i don't know how well that would go. i don't really have the money to pay a salary. however, i will make the game itself available to anyone who helps me with the project and credit you for the work, and i could work out an agreement to share any profits that could eventually possibly be made by the design of the game.

2d map designer dreamwalker studios anywhere level designers we have an immense passion for games and gaming, we always have. ever since the days legend of dragoon and xenogears i've grown to learn that video games weren't merely digital board games, but way to break out of reality and experience the creativity and dedication creators put into their masterpieces; because every game is a masterpiece in its own way. the insindious project is an initiative of mine to create a fun, engaging and lovable game. like most game projects, this one requires time and dedication, which i have no problem putting in. when creating a game, it shouldn't feel like a chore, right?. we should feel refreshed and accomplished upon completing each task needed to complete the project. but let me not go on for too long. insindious is the name of the game, which i'm anticipating on consisting of: - plenty of colorful, lovable and respectable characters. - a deep storyline featuring characters with detailed backstories. - deep, lush and vast areas for the player to explore. - fun and deeply emotional majesty that can keep the player engaged every single moment. - a visual and musical experience with art and music from many artists. - fast, strategic, flashy and engaging battles so grinding isn't a chore. - fresh and bright user interfaces. - balanced gameplay, playable characters and enemies. - an abundance of treasures and side content. - robust dialogue and heavy emphasis on character development (i mean, if you're going to go on a journey, you're going to want to enjoy spending time with your team members, correct?). i have a lot of hopes and plans for insindious and i'd kneel in gratitude to all those who are willing to put their own soul (don't worry, i'll give it back later) into taking part in our development. - what's insindious all about? 3d artists required devils inc studios anywhere artists our current project only one, will serve as the first title in what we are dubbing the how long? franchise, the idea behind the game is that the city has been deemed a loss and so the evacuation order has been given for the survivors, as is usual with game stories the plan goes to hell and you are forced into a round by round survival system, you survive waves of zombies which will grow in both number, viciousness and strength eventually forcing the player to either die or flee on the evacuation chopper. in between rounds we plan to allow the player to access and rts system to place turrets, sand bags, crates and other various items to be fully determined in an effort to ease their progress through the level. so it is in essence a survival horror crossed with arena style combat and an rts system. we have in place a framework and operational gdd which is now updated as we go, most of the enemies, weapons and other various bits are nailed down, we are of course using the unity engine and c# as the code base. we need to begin creating the host of assets for items that can be placed or simply exist within the environment as it stands, some of this will be aoe style implements to be used by the player. we could also really use a character artist/animator as we as this is our biggest hold up right now.

3d character modeler anywhere anywhere artists hello, my name is kurtis. i have been working on a horror game called invacancy for about a month now. i have completed a lot of the map and general mechanics of the game. this is my first game and i am making it on unity. you wake up in a large underground building. it looks like no one has been here for years. there are many rooms throughout the building, all containing a variety of strange things. as you venture through the rooms, you look for clues as to who put you here and how you can get out. but while you search... you are being searched for. disturbing creatures lurk around corners, inside bathrooms, and in the halls... mannequins. most appear to be normal, nothing to them at all. but others can move, some can speak, some have been dismembered and repaired in the most horrifying way. and some just sit, and stare, as you walk by. the only problem is there are no mannequins. i can't model or animate. i have even tried learning and it was just so difficult. i truly believe that modeling is the hardest part of any game. if someone could help out with the game, or at least teach me how to do this (preferably a little bit of both), it would help so much. sadly i cannot provide payment because this is my first game and i didn't want to put money into something i'm not too sure will work out (am i right here?).

well, you don't have to agree with our philosophy, i'd like to point out some of the things we value in our team to help you decide if this team is right for you. opportunity we welcome anyone from the community to contribute. we do not care about your age, gender, or any nonsense. we appreciate even the smallest contribution whether it's a tileset or a single sprite, or a musical idea that's not even composed. for those who are actively looking for work but am only interested to help us out a little, we will full-heartedly support and promote your work during the making and after the completion of our game. for those who are looking to be a full member, please read on. horizontal management / reasoning-based cooperation everyone has a say in everything. anything from art style to budget will be discussed and decided by opinions of all members. titles such as "team leader" or "investor" reflect on the responsibility, not power. trust obviously this is not a big issue in this community, i'd just like to say we place trust as our utmost important value in this team. dedication our existing members are very dedicated people who take time out of their daily lives for this project. one of which is a fugitive traveling the world permanently (lol he didn't commit crimes don't worry, just that the justice system sucks) and is currently in japan looking for resources. we'd like all of our team members to be reasonably dedicated. flexibility when the dice of life doesn't roll your way don't feel stressed that you've let down the team. we will figure something out together and we do have a member who is willing to cover any work that is omitted by other members due to whatever circumstances. just make sure you communicate to the team your needs and we're more than likely to help. anarcho-capitalism we to a degree, we will shape the game according to our investors and supporters. we'd like to crowdsource much of the game elements (i.e. snips of dialogue, sidequests) to create a game that fits the community. concurrently, we do not wish for the game to be so diluted in its ideas that it loses it's identity, nor will we apologize for any "politically incorrect" or "socially unacceptable" content that offends a specific group of people. we answer to no one. the game everything subject to change to fit the team members' needs, budgetary constraints introduction the game is an old-school classical rpg with modern art style and unique mechanics. the game direction and art style are inspired by golden sun, the mechanics are inspired by ragnarok online, and the story parodies real world crises while drawing inspiration from game of thrones (complex plot, and many characters will die). art style a mix brush art and pixel art. this will be largely fitted to the artist we decide to recruit (since this is largely a pixel art community we will seriously consider full pixel art if we recruit from here). the general look and feel of the game would be like golden sun: the perspective looks like any classical game except with vanishing points. we also wish to create a rich fantasy world that separates itself from others of the same genre. why does grass have to be green? music anybody who grew up playing ragnarok online will reminisce at the nostalgia of its brilliant music. the music will be more or less orchestrated similarly. two of my favorite composers are sawano hiroyuki (shingeki no kyojin) and kajiura yuki (fate/zero) and i hope they will influence our musician somewhat. eric gordon, the composer for chuthulu saves the world is currently free and has expressed much interest in joining our team. but we are very open to any talented artists. budget two months ago, i would have been able to offer generous freelance opportunities. but after the loss of one investor in our parent company, we spend all its extra funding into a mobile app project that is currently in development and the money is currently used to pay for a development team in india. don't worry, we have no affiliation or owe any contractual royalties to our parent company other than it supports us with extra funding when it has any. but this also means as of this moment we have no extra money to pay for any freelance work in advance. our plan of paying you is strictly a percentage of all revenue and crowdfunding support(kickstarter, indiegogo). we'd very much like to pay you a salary plus a percentage but that is not possible as of this moment so we will fully divide 100% of the revenue among the team members. our goal is not to make money but to create a strong fanbase that anticipates and contributes to our subsequent games. this brings me to the crowdfunding goals that further explains your pay. crowdfunding goals the crowdfunding community has been very generous in overfunding great games as well as, frankly, terrible games and teams that just take the money and run. we do not run. we will use any means necessary to complete the game. our goals for the game are quite ambitious (not to the point of being unrealistic) so our base crowdfunding goal would be around $10,000 with a reasonable expected overfunding of $30,000-80,000. out of our current members, 3 of them only care about the success of the company and are not looking to make money. this means that 15% will be divided amongst them and the remaining 85% of total revenue will be divided amongst the recruited members. we will launch the crowdfunding campaign roughly on september 8th. this means the members will be working on whatever they can to contribute to the campaign until september 8th, and depending on whether it's a 1 or 2 month campaign, they will receive their pay on october 9th or november 9th. if during the campaign the parent company receives extra funding or finds new investors, we will support the members that need it (personal problems) by paying them first. again, the parent company is a horizontally structured group that dabbles in all kinds of investments. we don't owe them anything, they periodically send us money. recruitment below are the positions filled/unfilled, but not limited to these positions. if you have any way of contributing to us we are always open to suggestion. * positions are members that will share the 15% budget. full members * team leader: ensen (japan) * marketing: eclat brightly (usa) * story: swice lee (usa) coder: sebastian (germany) pixel artist: concept artist: animator: music composer: eric gordon (usa) *maybe* fill-in (will compose music, design, animate, draw, market, anything to help): ensen (japan) volunteering members julius (usa) - will be composing a few songs for us amini (zanzibar) - some character concept designs josephine (taiwan) - some character concept designs contact information if you are interested at this point but would like to know more about the game, please post, pm, or email me at rluo0506@gmail.com with the position you would like to fill. we will send you the specific plans such as: characters lore story game mechanics themes existing designs please do not hesitate to email me about any question you have either. thank you all for reading.
