Leviathan Interactive is a startup development studio working on our first video game, a co-op ARPG codenamed Project Lodus. We are a passionate, tightly-knit group, looking to add to our highly collaborative team. Since our game is still in early development, this is a great opportunity to get in on a project you can help mold into something even more awesome.

As an environment concept artist, you will be working alongside the art director and other artists to craft an alluring cyberpunk/sci-fi/post-apocalyptic inspired world. You will be creating broad environment mood pieces as well as thinking inside the lines of our level building requirements to create individual assets we can build out. We are looking for someone who can share in the artistic vision, providing as much creative input as anyone on the team, and is comfortable in the iterative process of early design.
Strong environment illustration skills
Love of cyberpunk/sci-fi and desire to create something original in the space rather than regurgitating the same themes seen elsewhere
Industrial design skills are a plus
Ability to create rapid rough iterations of concepts as well as final polished pieces
Shared passion for the project and gaming in general
Self-motivation to carry your weight in a small team
An actively creative voice that can work in collaboration with our shared vision
We are currently creating an updated demo to show to interested investors. As such we need as many resources as we can to pour into it and the related presentation materials. In addition to that, we are sorely missing an environment artist on the team, currently we only have character artists.
Project Lodus early development was successfully Kickstarted mid last year, but currently we are back to operating on passion alone. We are currently seeking funding and in talks with several potential partners and investors, so this position is unfortunately unpaid at the moment. We hope to be able to pay everyone (including ourselves) soon, but we cannot make any guarantees. We are looking for hobbyist or student-professionals who want to bolster their portfolios, get work experience, or just love the idea and would dedicate time when they have it. Living near us in LA/Ventura County California is a plus, but not required.
If this dream appeals to you and you’d like to know more, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with info on yourself, your skill set, your available time commitment, and either an attached portfolio or a link to one online. We’d love to share more about the project with you and hopefully share in enthusiasm for it.
Thank you, and we look forward to your submissions.
