Hi. We are looking for an art director to help us on a game we are targeting at Xbox One, Wii U, PC, Mac, and Linux systems. Keep in mind that we are not averse to changing the entire art direction of the game as it is currently a hodge podge of work provided by many different sources.

We are not going to sugar coat it. We are new game developers with a small budget($2,000 for you), who've recently been accepted into the Xbox One and Wii U developer programs. We are also offering profit sharing. We can work out the details if you are accepted but we are not against paying you a majority of early revenue so you can be properly compensated for your time before we are.
We are also considering launching a Kickstarter in the future where we will attempt to secure additional funding.

We have already spent a lot of our own funds on promotion (taking the game to PAX East) and fees regarding the game’s development and will continue to do so, but we just cannot afford that as well as a decent wage at the moment.

We are looking for anyone from two extremes of art direction. One extreme would be someone who has that artist’s eye and just wants to direct the programmers to create a unique art style basically entirely programmatically. This would include directing the creation of effects and shaders. Think of the game Antichamber. This does not require technical knowledge of shaders or programming.
The other extreme would be someone who would want to draw everything themselves.
We are open to all ideas and want to give you the most freedom possible to see your artistic direction come to life.

Please respond with a link to your portfolio and whether or not you are around the central Florida area. We are not opposed to online only work, but being able to meet face to face throughout the development process would be the bee’s knees. You must have previous platformer experience or be able to show that you are capable of parallax effects and sidescroller visuals. You can also email me at Contact{at}noblewhale.com.
